Very good location in downtown Detroit, felt safe. Nice, safe parking lot about a 2 minute walk away for a pretty cheap price. About a 10 minute walk to Comerica and less than 20 minute walk to the river walk. Was a unique experience and is a great price, so long as you don't need housekeeping. While it is mostly virtual and digital, there was staff of some sort at all hours of the day. Only complaint was the lack of water pressure in the shower. Still, for the cost, it was definitely 5 stars.

My wife says it was “okay, I guess”

We picked the Sonder because it was the cheapest option in downtown Detroit, and we got our money’s worth. The building and room were secure, and adequately clean. Everything included in the listing was there. We were able to get an extra blanket after requesting twice. The contractor who refinished the building cut as many corners as possible. There’s a crack between the shower stall and the wall, through which a centipede came to visit. The dishwasher is deafeningly loud, which is surprising, because the water pressure is lackluster. The furniture is cheap, and not well suited for hotel use. DON’T try any vigorous activity on the bed; it cannot handle it. So overall, it was fine. It was a place to sleep. Could have been much worse.

Lots of homeless population around making it a little uncomfortable to go in and out without getting asked for money. Needs a lot of maintenance work- lobby was full of hardware/etc. Elevators were filthy and falling apart. Rooms looked okay but ceilings were chipping and flaking off.

We had a 1 bedroom apartment, plenty big enough and fully stocked for cooking. We will definitely stay again if in the area. We also enjoyed the city view from our room.

The property is in a great, walkable area- the bed is really comfortable, but the property is nothing fancy and has a few things I would be aware of like lots of dust and my tv unfortunately didn't work. I did love the windows and blinds and that you get a full kitchen and washer and dryer. If you are a stickler on stays, like I can be- I would pass on this for the price. If you aren't as picky, it's a decent stay.
