I made numerous attempts to contact NIGHTMARE ISLAND before, during, and after booking to inform them about my severe nut allergy. Despite reassurances through online chat, the buffet breakfast on the first day of our stay was filled with uncovered nuts, causing me to suffer an anaphylactic reaction and requiring the use of my EpiPen twice. The resort's response to this emergency was severely lacking, and their offer of only one additional EpiPen was insufficient given the circumstances. Furthermore, the condition of the room was unacceptable, with evidence of poor cleanliness and maintenance. Despite promises of discounts and complimentary items, we did not receive any of these benefits. Ultimately, due to these issues, we had no choice but to find alternative accommodation. Initially, some staff members offered a full refund, pending the clearance of any additional charges incurred during our stay. This did not occur - we were refunded a partial amount of our stay - which is just not okay considering the circumstances. False advertising!! My fiancé was served a meal covered in ants. What is most definitely is NOT what is available within this resort.It looks like an abanded island - if I could rate them no stars - I would

the resort needs renovation. The staff is very young and has little experience. The two restaurants must be booked otherwise only take away. The menu is very clear, but very expensive. I think if you want to do Whitsundays it's better to invest a little more and go to Haymen Island

The resort was amazing. Loved the open air aquarium and underwater observatory. Staff were lovely and friendly. Only 1 small mistake, we booked 2 x to go fishing which was confirmed by email but when they went to go only one was booked. Bit disappointing as 1 missed out. We paid 2 x booking fee but did only pay for one to fish

Not too busy. Did not have to fight for a poolside beach chair. Kids met other kids and found things to do. Fantastic. Room cleaned daily if wanted. If not - $10 credit applied to end of stay bill. Good incentive. Great food. Only thing noticed many times that was a little annoying was when getting a drink / coffee shop service or paying front desk bill - only one person serving. Take order. Make coffees. And have to wait. . Ok if you were not in a hurry for tours or just wanting quicker customer service. Overall. Great though.

The pools aren’t heated so keep that in mind There’s no sign at the spa to not put your head under water so tonnes of unsupervised kids in there diving under the water splashing it in your face The staff are kind and helpful There’s no room service and only 2 restaurants and you have to book to get into the cheaper dining Kids eat free was very helpful though The food gets repetitive after a week of being there The breakfast wasn’t that must different choices It’s a great place to unwind though Note the beaches aren’t sand anymore it’s covered in coral unlike what I read online so make sure you get coral shoes

Felt a little too isolated. Wish there were more options for those staying on the island to be able to get out off the island without the expensive transfers. After 2 nights we were ready to leave. The weather unfortunately didn't help and the pool was extremely cold so that was out of the question. Restaurants book out well ahead so the first night was wasted eating takeout.

The tanks and open waterways that displayed tropical fish was really great. The dining options are very limited, breakfast area was always full of birds both walking around and flying around which was unhygienic. Birds were stealing food off the tables and the buffet area. The staff were unconcerned and unbothered. Everything needed a bit of work, from rusted table legs through to aging facilities.
