Good

The rooms were comfortable and warm, if a little dated. Excellent parking and lovely surroundings. Good value. We had dinner on our first night; reasonably priced pub type food, good service and our first round of drinks was on the house - nice touch :-)
We rocked up at midnight just after a storm. Our flight had been cancelled and we were a bit battered and bruised from flight delays and ultimately, an overnight delay. We were lucky to nab the last room! Sam and Katrina welcomed us and checked us in. Everything was closed but they waited with us and offered us drinks and snacks (although there was tea and coffee in our room). Sam stayed up to 4:00am sourcing a cab for some of the other guests which were in a similar position to us- amazing!
The breakfast in the morning perked is up no end and a lovely walk around the grounds had us ready and raring to go back to the airport to try again. Katrina, Sam and Joy made what could have been a very unhappy start to our hols, an absolute joy- thank you so much!
We will definitely be back for a planned weekend!

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Located in prestigious golf course. Units may need a little refurbishment
Great stay at gatton manor, staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is undergoing renovation, we stayed in an older room which although tired, was perfectly suitable for our needs and clean and tidy with comfy bed. There is clearly some investment going into this hotel and there are newly renovated rooms I believe but unsure what they are like. Although we had to pay for breakfast it was freshly made and all needs were catered for. Great stay overall

Not bad, but room for improvement
Comfy beds, but the pillows were dreadful, really flat and floppy. The 'old' part of the building is undergoing some renovation and looks a bit scruffy and the shower head can only be used by holding it
The welcome was superb. I felt really valued as a visitor.
The room was very clean and functional, and whilst the beds were very soft, and I prefer a harder bed, I had a good nights sleep. The only slight criticism was that I did not know how to turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom.
Whilst we did not eat dinner at the hotel, we did sample their "sausage rolls" and they were so nice we had to have a second.
Finally, I have been going to Gatton Manor for a lot of years and can see that they are making a lot of changes and improvements. I just hope that they keep the character of the building and do not go too modern.
Looking forward to next year's visit.
Very friendly staff and fantastic food both for dinner and breakfast. Hotel undergoing some improvements, but none of that impacted us at all. A great last minute stay as the hotel we booked lost power and had to close. Will definitely visit again
This hotel is very poor in current situation, my experience was that it was a very dated place with little or no investment for a long time. Room 14 was in a very poor condition when it was let to me. The room was dirty, there was debris in the sink, toilet looked in clean, the shower base was dirty (hair from previous) and the bath mat had hairs on it. The door on the cabinet in the bathroom was falling off. I just looked and felt dirty something I least expected in current climate of Covid.
My suggestion to anyone looking to stay in the region you are better off looking elsewhere as for £79 a night you will surely get something much better value, comfortable and clean for your money

The room was very dated, although clean. TV *very* small! The whole hotel was dated and needed revamping. Minimal staff on duty, although in lockdown, and at one point I was locked out of the hotel completely.
