Historic 9 bedroom estate on world's largest chain of lakes

Indian Point Manor was named after the Indian statue at the SW corner of the property overlooking Catfish Lake. The property was originally built by former Chicago Mayor Edward Kelly in 1929. The mayor and his wife carefully and meticulously planned the property to include such items as a projection room for the theater, a two boat wet boathouse, a great room with 31’ cathedral ceilings and a carriage house above the garage for his security detail.

Indian Point Manor is a massive 9 bedroom house with modern updates and a rich history. Rental of the Manor includes the use of the boathouse with an upper-level game room, a private lookout over the lake and a full sized tennis court and the grounds surrounding. An outdoor fire pit and grilling area are also located next to the main house among the meticulously groomed yard.

The main house is comprised of two levels of stunning architecture and luxurious comforts, bathed in warm light from wall to ceiling windows throughout the main level. The great room is the central hub of the home with 31’ cathedral ceiling, huge stone fireplace, piano, adjustable seating arrangements with large LOVESAC couch and state of the art 85” TV with theater sound. Relax and play board games, enjoy a fire in the wood fireplace or have a movie night. Does your group have talent? Use the 1920’s finely tuned grand piano to belt out some songs or have a dance party with the tremendous surround sound system. At the end of the night relax on the couch and marvel at the petroglyphs carved into the Great Room walls.

The kitchen is the perfect amalgamate of old world charm and modern convenience! The kitchen has been meticulously rehabbed to provide a gourmet cooking experience with a Wolf double stove, new counter tops for plenty of prep space and wall to ceiling cabinetry appointed with everything you’ll need to impress your guests with your culinary skills. The space features a custom walnut island and the original 1930’s GE refrigerator that’s been updated with the latest refrigeration components. There is one dishwasher in the kitchen, and a second dishwasher conveniently located in the attached coffee bar area. There is also a more informal dining area with seating for 8 guests, full tableware and serving settings are provided for up to 48 people.

The property has two master bedrooms, one on each level. Each of the master bedrooms is western facing, measuring 20x19’ and provides a King bed, desk and seating area. Both bedrooms have large walk-in closets with floor to ceiling shelving and a private, attached bath. There are two additional bedrooms on the main level and another five upstairs. See the property photos for bedroom descriptions and locations.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.
Enjoy recreation amenities such as a hot tub or take in the view from a garden. Additional amenities at this vacation home include an arcade/game room and barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Wolf Tracking Adventure with Teaching Drum School

Our group of 14 adults needed accommodations that would allow for spaced sleeping arrangements, but warm & comfortable community gathering around a fire to share the stories we discovered out in the woods each day. We had plenty of space to create & share meals & the manor was more beautiful & special than even the pictures could convey. And what a great place to come home to after learning about and tracking the wolves who support the positive health of the rich ecosystem in this part of Wisconsin. Fun in the snow!! Thank you!

Beautiful House and Location

This is a lovingly restored property with stunning views over Catfish Lake. The owners have gone to great lengths to preserve the character of the building, whilst providing all the modern conveniences you would expect from a home of this caliber. The steam showers were particularly welcome after a day of subzero cross-country skiing! The house is close to town, but nicely secluded, and all the people we met in Eagle River were incredibly warm and welcoming. A beautiful trip that we will remember fondly for years to come.

Beautiful and Historic

We had a great time for our snowmobile trip. There were 16 in our group. The historical information to look at kept us busy all weekend. We spent most of our time in front of the huge fireplace or at the bar. Thank you for allowing us to experience it.
