Enjoyed our stay at the Apex Waterloo in Scotland. Location was excellent for our sightseeing bus, easy walk to dining and transportation. Hotel had had a wonderful pool and locker facility to relax and unwind

We stayed for two nights during the final week of the Fringe Festival, which likely explains the higher-than-usual rates. However, that's the only downside I noticed. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of the Royal Mile and other key attractions. Although we didn’t have dinner at the hotel, we did enjoy breakfast in the restaurant, which offered a great selection. The staff was friendly. We also had drinks at the bar before heading out, where the bartenders were welcoming and attentive. The hotel itself is modern, and the room met our expectations.

The windows in our bedroom were all painted shut, not one window opened. We were on the 8th floor. The service at breakfast was dreadful, we were ignored for the first 2 days. They didn't change our bed once during the whole stay. They only had 2 lifts and one broke down regularly. My son got stuck in that lift and was there for a considerable amount of time. All of the above was reported several times to reception. My son spoke with the manager and made an agreement, which the manager appears to have gone back on his word. Very disappointed with this hotel.

Great hotel in ideal location
Hotel was in great location close to bus & train station, ideal for so many tourist attractions, amazing choice of shops & restaurants nearby, room was spacious with large comfortable bed with firm mattress and pillows, sofa, large TV, fridge, safe, iron & board, coffee & tea, large bottle of chilled water, lovely toiletries provided & good sized shower, nice bar area to relax, good breakfast with plenty choice, great staff, would recommend this hotel
