The position is great, but the room doesn't meet my expectations. The room was spacious but not very comfortable, with a view facing a wall and a noticeable smell. I think there's room for improvement in the accommodations.

No heating or air con system, only portal heater left on full blast in our room before arrival, making our room stifling hot for the duration of our overnight stay. Room curtains were also off the rail and the window lock was broken.

We ended up in an accessible room as this was all that was available with single beds. Room was very clean, staff were amazing. Room was exceptionally hot and the AC (as always the way in hotels) not fab.

Excellent hotel

Lovely hotel, staff friendly & helpful. Able to leave luggage re check in/out, which is pretty handy. Rooms very clean & comfy. Unfortunately windows had locks on them and our room was rather warm, otherwise good. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant. Plenty of choices. Would definitely stay there again & recommend to anyone.

Bang in the right part of town

Hotel is 10 min walk from Edinburgh Waverley station and walking distance to all the main sites in Edinburgh. Saw a few negative, reviews on the Ibis check in website for this hotel, but other than a congested reception area at times, receptionists were excellent and friendly, the room I had was quite large and very quiet, including the whole floor. The room had a bit of wear on the flooring but for the price in this location well worth it. As for breakfast and meals in the restaurant, I could not fault it. Breakfast served both hot and cold selections and the restaurant in the evenings had some good meal specials on offer. I would stay here again!

Very basic accommodations so if you are okay with that then there should be no issues. Location was great and the hotel was very quiet. The room we were in was quite run down and reminded us a bit of dorm style living. Minimal hanging space and storage for clothing with no hooks anywhere, damaged flooring (looked like water damaged laminate), and hard/thin mattress were the biggest complaints.
