While the room itself was clean and comfortable, the lobby and checkin area was more like a hostel than a hotel - bare bones, noisy and frenetic. However, the breakfast had extensive choices and was very good.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very helpful in storing our luggage before we could check into our room and after our checkout while we did some last tours in the city. Beds were comfortable and was a vary good breakfast buffet. Our only conern was that the fire alarm went off at 6:00 AM, and after we left the building there didn't appear to be any firemen checking into the incident or staff checking to see that everyone was out. It took over 20 minutes for a staff member to come open the door and tell us we could go back in. In the meantime, no information was given to us as to what was going on. Thankfully it had stopped raining. When we were allowed to enter, we were only told there was no fire and they didn't know why the alarm was still going off intermitently. After we returned to our room, the alarm still went off several times.

This hotel has a great location and it’s walking distance to most attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our room as it was pretty spacious compared to most European hotel rooms. The room was also very clean. Overall great property!

The room was very accessable, staff friendly and helpful and the food and service very good. It is very close to everything and only a short walk to the Royal Mile. An excellent place to stay.

Great central location and nice room. Added bedside plug or phone charge port would have been nice. South Bridge itself was a bit dirty and smelly but the convenient location was the main reason for booking and the hotel is a great budget choice. Would stay again.

We were going to the Edinburgh Tattoo and this hotel was within easy walking distance of the castle and very close to the royal mile,bed very comfortable and breakfast was very well presented and enjoyable we would certainly use this hotel again

Nice enough location. However, we were goven two rooms above a bar that played loud music until 4am. AND i had asked two times to please give us a quiet location…. And it was the wxact opposite. Lowest level floor above the bar. Yes, big city, but disappointing nonetheless.

Great spot for tourists
The Ibis was the perfect choice for our visit to the city. It's centrally located to everything. The rooms are comfortable as are the beds. The hotel is simply decorated which is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms facing the back are quiet. Only downside is that the windows don't open but the airconditioning works great.
