Loved being in Old Town and walking distance to Grass market. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Appreciated the breakfast buffet and the pool.

The nightly rate for this hotel is Resort level, but what you're getting is an average night at a Holiday Inn. There is "climate control" but not air conditioning--and that matters more and more in Europe in the summer. The pool is small and they charge extra for using a robe. When we checked in, we were not told about any of the services or opening times for amenities. Essentially we were not "welcomed," we took part in a (expensive) business transaction. Since I felt that I was paying for a Resort, I did expect friendly, more enthusiastic customer service, a robe included, and nicer changing rooms for the small pool. Edinburgh is an expensive city, especially in the summer, but my advice is to book way in advance for a better rate--and if you're going to pay this rate, make sure you're getting plenty of amenities.

Really nice stay. Probably the best nights sleep I’ve ever had a in hotel. The beds were really comfortable and the climate control kept the room at a pleasant temperature. Nice bathroom, with separate loo. Good breakfast choice, nice bar and lounge area in reception. Didn’t use the pool but it looked good. Easy walk to the main attractions of central Edinburgh. Would stay here again.

Had a great stay - better room layout than Novotel London (Tower Bridge location - separate toilet room and an opaque wall between shower and the bedroom); Parking is certainly tight and not guaranteed for the next time you return, once you pull-out; Breakfast buffet was great; Convenient location - quick 10min walk to royal mile as well as the train (Waverly) station

15 min walk from Waverley station and in close proximity to the castle. Nice pub/restaurant attached with a few seats outside. Kids eat free breakfast with a paying adult so great value. The kids lived making their own waffles. Also, a swimming pool to keep them sweet after a long day sightseeing 😊
