Historic Cabin with a Mix of Antique and Modern; Croquet Court to Try Your Skill

Estes Park Registration #3309
Enjoy magnificent views, serenity and privacy from this charming cabin just outside Rocky Mountain National Park. Perfect for your family vacation or artist's retreat, this home is a beautiful one mile walk from the park where you can hike for miles, and it is a short walk to the shuttle pick up spot close by!

You will feel as though you are taking a step back in time as you enter this historic cabin in a beautiful alpine setting but know you will be greeted with all of the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable and convenient. The cabin has an incredible history; it was built by the current owner’s grandparents back in the early 1900s, around the time of the opening of Rocky Mountain National Park.

The owners have kept the charm of the original cabin while adding in modern conveniences. The living area, kitchen, a bedroom, bathroom with claw-foot tub, and game/art/movie room are all part of the original cabin. The modern master suite has been added on and, in addition to having fabulous views of Longs Peak while relaxing in bed, it also has a gas fireplace, reading/artists area, additional bathroom with shower, and washer/dryer. There is even a twin bed in the same room for a child or family member.

Outdoors, there is a covered outdoor seating area, gas grill, and a wraparound deck from which you can breathe in the fresh air, view abundant wildlife and native birds, take in the mountain views, and feel as though you are a part of the wilderness. Elk, deer, bears, and an occasional bobcat come to visit frequently.

The cabin also has a croquet court with seating for everyone to watch or jump in and play.  There are mallets, balls and instructions to get you started on this fun family game.  After a few games of croquet, enjoy the perfect picnic spot on “The Rocks”; a natural stone dining area along with a table nestled under the pines. Or for a change, have your picnic first then light the croquet court with lanterns and play a game in the evening. Don’t forget to get in some star gazing between games of croquet!

Watching storms coming and going over the mountains, and the sun rising and setting on majestic Longs Peak will be experiences you won't forget. Located just minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park where outdoor adventure awaits, there is no need to drive or deal with traffic from this private yet accessible location.

Just a short jaunt into the town of Estes Park which offers shopping, great restaurants and activities for all ages, this cabin will be perfect for your Rocky Mountain vacation!
Make yourself comfortable in this vacation home, which features a fireplace. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment.
This smoke-free vacation home features games, ecotours nearby, and sledding nearby. Recreational activities include rock climbing nearby, hiking/biking trails nearby, and kayaking nearby.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Exactly what we needed it to be
This place was exactly what we were looking for. The house was located close enough to the town but still had a view from the porch. It is in a neighborhood but we never heard much around us and still got to see some wildlife. The road leading up to the house was a little rough but its a short distance. Inside the house there are 7 'beds' depending on how you view it. The master bedroom has a queen, a full (I think) with a trundle, and a twin. There is plenty of space for all of them but you dont get any privacy from each other. There is a small room with a futon, and there is a day bed with a trundle in a common room. The only downside to that room was that neither bathroom can be accessed through the common rooms, you have to go through the bedrooms. I personally felt like the property was well stocked with everything you would need. However I could have done without all of the passive aggressive notes every where. All in all this place really was perfect for a week away to spend some time with family.

Everything we were hoping for and more!
This property has the character, charm, location, cleanliness and views that make a mountain home perfect! We loved the porch, spacious master suite, swing for our 6 year old, and the proximity to great restaurants and RMNP. The hosts were communicative and accommodating. We hope to stay here again soon!

Perfect Spot!
We thoroughly loved it at the cabin on Larkspur Road and we hope to stay there again. The history of the cabin was wonderful to read about and be a part of for the days that we were there. We enjoyed the way the cabin was built and all of the little storage areas, old books and dishes were delightful! It was very refreshing in this fast-paced, busy world to enjoy what is truly real and important. Thank-you for sharing this wonderful cabin!!!

Breath-taking and Historic!
This property left us speechless! What an amazing historic family home with breath-taking views and many modern conveniences. We could have sat on the deck overlooking Longs Peak all day and night. So full of sunshine during the day, twinkling starts at night, and amazing views. Superbly maintained and comfortable. Conveniently located to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and a grocery store right down the road. We will definitely be back! What a privilege to stay here.

The property was terrific. Very clean and well supplied. The view of the Rockies from the deck of this 90 year old summer home could not be beat. Close to Estes Park and to National Park. The local property manager was very helpful. We’d definitely rent it again on our next trip to Estes
