Staff very helpful hotel convenient to the sea front on probem no restaurant open for evening meal and fire door begin held open by a chair left like that all day and night

The property is a little tired but in a superb location. We were in the Courtyard extension and the walls seemed very thin as some late night revellers made a hell of a noise when returning to their rooms. Overall not bad.

The Royal Beacon has an old world charm which goes with its age (200?). Unfortunately the hotel has creaky floors which also match its age. Doors are sprung to close abruptly; picture hanging bumpers might reduce the annoyance of regularly slamming doors. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
