Anwar and his staff were amazing, and would go beyond expectation, their service are amazing, very kind and friendly staff. They took care of us from the first days we arrived when taxi dropped us, till last minute before we left. Gave good advices, highly recommend staying here.
Very welcoming and relatively close to all you want to see in Fes. View from the rooftop is also very nice. The only thing is my cellphone data didn’t work well in the area as it’s located down the hill, so I recommend downloading a map in advance. Overall, people were nice, price were nice, riad was nice, so 5/5.
It might be a little hard to find but worth the effort. The riad courtyard is beautiful. The room we had was spacious and comfortable, liked the shower. View from the terrace was nice. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We had dinner there the first night due to travel and chose to again our last night there because it was good.
On the edge of the medina, you will need to carry your bags a little.
A unique experience, the owner had a person come in to sing after dinner our first night. I don't have the experience or vocabulary to do it justice. So beautiful. Probably not an everyday occurrence.
Anwar saw to most day to day needs. Nice, interesting person.
Lovely house, a real haven, pictures don't really do it justice, very warm and personal hosts with good service and advice for tourists, top-notch air conditioners made it very comfortable. Airport pickup they sent was superb. Tried dinner one night, it was delicious and classier than your standard medina restaurant although still a little too pricy. Location is in a quieter part of the city which I liked, and just off the marked green route.
The hotel is in a beautiful old building with a courtyard in the middle. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and happy to help with directions and ideas of what to do. The owner also hired a guide for us. Dinner is great (but be prepared to settle in for a multi-course meal). The terrace has a great view out over the old city. The only thing to be aware of is that (like, I would imagine, many places of a similar age and style), the bedroom can be fairly cold in the colder months, even with the heater on.
Comfortable, authentic riad style, romantic, beautiful hotel with spectacular roof top terrace view, very helpful and gracious staff, with absolutely delicious food cooked just for us (best dinners we had). I can't recommend highly enough. I want to go back.
"Rustic" to put it nicely. Staff tried their best, but communication in english was difficult. Food was ok. Wifi only worked in the reception area. Room was spacious but really cold during the night in the winter. Very noisy. My advice to people coming to Marocco is to avoid ryads and just stay in a modern hotel.
STOP! Do not even think of staying elsewhere, STOP and do yourself a favor that you will remember for the rest of your life. Life is meant to be experienced and traveling is so much more than being a tourist, eating a quick meal at a nondescript restaurant and checking things off your list to see. If you value meeting a wonderful hostess and staff, if you value a beautiful room and surroundings, and if you value eating 5 star restaurant food at a fraction of the price; then stop and book your stay here. I have traveled all around the globe and have never found a nicer place to stay; and the food.... Chantal is without question the best chef in Fez. To waste you money dining anywhere else would be a crime against your taste buds. Breakfast is outstanding, and for a mere 18 euros additional, you can feast on the most amazing 6 course dinner you will ever experience. Come for the beautiful accommodations, stay for the dining experience of your lifetime.
