A Gem
Elvis Elvis Elvis! Elvis greeted us upon arrival and set the tone for our entire stay. He was charming, funny, and passionate about his job. Many guests passed through the lobby as we checked in and he knew all of them on a first name basis. Elvis represents the very best of Italy - stay here and you'll feel right at home (plus the rooms, happy hour and breakfast were all lovely!) We'd absolutely stay here again and loved the location, the city, and most importantly - ELVIS!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Davanzati. We liked the intimacy of the building (as in a home), the lobby and breakfast/social room, the bedrooms (with wood trim, tile floors, high ceilings, etc.), but the standout feature was the two front desk staff. We met two of them, one more that the other. He greeted us and everyone else by name when arriving or departing, was helpful with directions or information about sights, and had an outgoing, amazingly customer-focused personality that really was beyond anyone else we have encountered. The have a free happy hour at 6:30 with subdued lighting, wine, and snacks. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to meet other guests. There are the stairs to deal with, but the staff bring your luggage up and down for you. The rooms are air conditioned, but our room was warmer that we would have liked and they provided a fan. All told, it was a very pleasant stay, and we would go back the next time we are in Florence.

Great hotel close to all the major attractions. Very friendly and helpful. Hollywood style room with separate dressing area. Room perfectly adequate for 3 nights stay. Great shower. Toilet legroom was a bit tight. Steps up into the hotel were known when we booked. Breakfast was plentiful and cake/coffee and happy hour were nice unexpected touches. Good rate for city hotel, recommended.

3 star hotel which gives 5 star service!
Exceptional little hotel in a beautiful old town house bang in the centre of the city. The location is incredible. The staff are brilliant and there are so many nice touches in the hotel as added extras. The continental breakfast, afternoon coffee and cakes and a happy hour in the evening to mix with fellow guests over a Prosecco or Chianti. This hotel definitely punches above its weight. 5 star it isn’t, but fantastic it is!

This was the perfect hotel in Florence. The staff were amazing, the rooms clean and quiet, amazing AC and amenities that were all included: breakfast with a coffee barista, happy hour with wine. We had an amazing stay! It’s an easy walk from the train station, near shopping and central to duomo and ponte vecchio!

Staff were excellent, incredibly helpful with baggage, check in and out, and breakfast. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Location really can't be beat, right in the heart of Florence. I only wish we could have stayed longer at this hotel, but we will be back!

Loved the room and the location. Very comfortable. It did have some street noise but it didn’t bother me. The front desk was super kind and informative upon my arrival. When leaving the front desk person didn’t know what was going on and tried to get me to pay for the room when I already had. I showed my receipt and left. Overall great stay. Amazing location and the stairs didn’t bother me bc I pack light.

We gave this hotel a five star rating because of the staff and location. We traveled as a family of three and rented the four person room. Goods: - The staff at this hotel are amazing. - The location of the hotel is very good for walking around Florence. - Breakfast buffet in small, but good quality for a 3 star European hotel. Others: - This is a typical 3 star hotel in the center of Florence. That means that the hotel rooms are small, Bathrooms are small and either outdated or an upgraded version of something that started very small. You need to navigate small elevators and tight stairs with your bags, at check-in and check out. Also, don't rent this hotel if your planning on spending a lot of time in the room. You rent a 3 star in Florence to get close to the action at a cheaper price.

Hotel Davanzati was superb. Leonardo welcomed us warmly, the room was quiet and clean, there were snacks shortly after we arrived and happy hour later. The staff was so friendly and hospitable. I was sorry to leave and this would be the only place I would choose to stay if I am lucky enough to come back to Florence.

A pleasant return stay with a few key shortcomings. Our room had little usable space to access our 2 small suitcases - a small side room had a very low ceiling (well short of 6 foot) so we hit our heads. The breakfast selection was poor - most disappointing of our 4 weeks in Italy - little fresh fruit, few appealing options, not good enough in a hotel of this ranking (coffee was excellent). We hope the hotel works to improve this as the staff were helpful and the hotel location is excellent.
