Among the many resorts on the beachfront Fort Myers strip, I paid the extra money to reserve a room at DiamondHead for a few reasons: 1) it appeared to be well kept and had the amenities I was looking for. 2) It was beachfront and my pregnant wife would not have to go far to enjoy the shore. Unfortunately, on the days of our visit, the beach directly in front of the resort was completely blocked off for construction. Yes, constriction… on the beach. I have no idea what they are constructing on sand, but we no longer had the pivotal reason we selected this hotel- beachfront access. So instead we would need to walk to the shore in front of a nearby resort to enjoy the water. Huge bummer. Not to mention the noise that the construction was creating. Also there were signs saying that they stop activity at 5pm, I can assure you that they went hours after that each night. But besides that horrible set back, and despite not getting the key thing we wanted out of this trip, the room itself was absolutely beautiful and the balcony views were stunning. I wish our experience were different, and I would like to get a second chance at enjoying it at its best capacity. But still bummed out I didn’t get an email or a call after the reservation was made to let us know we would lose this key feature… That is definitely something I recommend the resort to do for future projects like this. Thank you

Very dissatisfied trip
I was not made aware that the beach was under construction and no beach amenities were available my entire trip. We had to walk to another hotel. Also when we arrived, our refrigerator was not cleaned and was leaking water all over the floor. We called the front desk and they said they would be right there but never showed up to clean it or bring us new towels. The next day when we woke our coffee maker did not work. We called the front desk to get another coffee maker and were told to come get coffee at the front desk. We paid for a Premier room and we chose the hotel based on amenities and location. When I went to the front desk to talk about my dissatisfaction she said she would share with the manager Heather but the manager never did anything to try to make things right. The front desk tried to blame the construction on the town but it is the hotel’s responsibility to let the customers aware of the construction

I will not be going back.
I was disappointed with some cleanliness issues like the outside of the cabinets that were stained as well as the doors & around light switches. My padlock was semi broken, my living rm TV kept saying "no signal" despite maintenance fixing it. My bedrm remote wouldn't control the volume even though I went all the way downstairs to get new batteries for it. The refrigerator FROZE everything & I had bought fresh salads & fruit for my 5 day stay. The blow dryer was very small & cheap. The floor of my shower was slippery from needing a good scrubbing. They have 2 restaurants. One is super casual by the pool that's completely open to the elements so if it's at all cool/cold like it was for me then it's too uncomfortable to dine in the open breezy, cold air. There were little to no healthy options as well. Their nicer restaurant is only open Wed - Sat or Sun so I was only able to dine there 1 night. Yes it was slow b/c of the colder weather but I called & asked to make sure all amenities were up & running & they said yes. I also did not like that the entrance to the rooms were outside. You get off of the elevator from the lobby & you're back outside. It felt like a motel entrance. Also you need to get onto an elevator from outside to get to the lobby. There was a podium & chairs & there should have been a staff member but there never was. My driver had to go find someone. Lastly the elevators were super super slow. Not sure why?

We stayed January 1-5, 2025. We were very happy with the room and staff the only downfall was all the heavy equipment being used 24/7 improving the beach. The noise at night was terrible and sleep was not good because of it. I would stay again but make sure the construction was over.

The very congested 1 road in and out of island made travel almost impossible. We understand the hurricane destroyed nearby restaurants that would be walkable, but eating at Diamond Head grill/bar and Coste EVERY night is not what we had in mind for vacation. We had lots of rest, which was needed but not much else to do. The property was lovely and clean, but probably would not come back until other eating options are open.

I was on vacation with my two daughters. I know that they were hit by a hurricane a few years ago. Nowhere in the description when I book the hotel does it say that they are still working on getting the area open and safe. The property itself was fine, but there are no lights on the road no transportation, except Ubers and not walking distance at night to the restaurants. Many stores and the one or two restaurants in the vicinity were closed. This is very disappointing. I booked for five nights and I wanted to cancel my last 3 to 4 nights after experiencing this on the first day. The hotel was not accommodating and penalized me for one night which was $271 and change. That is a high price to be penalized when you’re canceling for unsafe reasons I don’t recommend the hotel for the fact that it is so desolate. You are better off staying at the Margaritaville, which is right next door to many restaurants and very lit up.!! I had high hopes and was very disappointed!!!
