Enjoy this relaxing, modern farmhouse. Close enough to town to experience all the town has to offer, but far enough away to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and really feel like you've gotten away from it all. In fact, you're just 10 miles from Fredericksburg's Main Street, 15-20 minutes to the wineries east of town, and 8 miles to Alamo Spring Cafe and Old Tunnel state park (fantastic burgers and great bat viewing).
Entering the home, a pleasant foyer welcomes guests into the stunning, open concept living area. The expansive living room invites you to take a seat in your choice of a comfortable couch, two end chairs, and two ottomans- all arranged around a beautiful indoor stone fireplace. The fully-equipped kitchen is a chef's dream offering a full-sized refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, and ample counter space for prep work. The dining area, seating six around an elegant harvest table, lies just off of the kitchen and enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside through tall and graceful windows on two sides.
When it is time to retire for the evening, guests have three beautifully-appointed bedrooms to choose from. The master pampers with a king bed and premium bedding while also featuring its own private bathroom with an always desirable double vanity and large walk-in shower. The second bedroom features two bunk beds with twin size bedding for up to four. This is a great room for children or friends and family who desire a bed all to themselves! The third bedroom includes a wonderful queen bed with an attractive barn door-style headboard. Both the second and third bedrooms share a hallway bathroom featuring a gorgeous granite counter and convenient tub/shower combination.
Outside, two covered porches, a charcoal grill, fire ring with seating, and a picnic table all make savoring the best that nature has to offer a true delight.
Wineries and shopping by day and sitting around the fire and watching the stars in the evening- getaways don't get much better than this. The house is also located on a large tract of land with abundant wildlife and a catch and release pond (subject to rainfall), so there's truly something for everyone in your party to enjoy.
Items to be aware of:
The home's television does not feature any television programming. As a result, if you want to watch live television or a program from a subscription service, you will need to bring your own log in information from home with you.
Uber and local taxi services are available for rides into town if driving is a concern.
We ask that guests stay on the road to the house and relatively close to the home itself. The property boundaries aren't well marked, but as long as you're within 100 yards or so of the house, you'll be fine.
You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country, which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee pests or bugs will not be visible.
