Everything was very nice. The staff was helpful. I arrived early and left to take a tour. When I arrived back my luggage was in my room waiting for me. The throw blanket on the bed was a nice touch and the room was well appointed. The smoked salmon and eggs were delicious at breakfast.

Tired so pricey

This could be a great hotel and we would stay again but at the prices charged for the rooms everything has to be first class - and it’s not. There are signs of wear and tear everywhere. Our room door looked like it had been broken into at some point and poorly repaired. The paintwork has scuff marks and the shower leaked across the bathroom floor ( yes the door was closed properly). Public spaces seemed ok but a bit tired. The staff are fantastic.

The staff in the restaurant were friendly and professional. The breakfast was good and the food for dinner was excellent. The menu allowed one to order quantities which suited their needs. The location was a challenge for us.

Quick and efficient check in, stylish rooms, purpose built so quiet despite being close to the forth road bridge. 20 min walk to train station with 15 min journey into Edinburgh, or bus outside. Lots of free parking. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay was good. 45 minutes by bus to Edinburgh But extremely disappointed with the service regarding the shuttle service to the airport. We chose this hotel because of that Only to be told many different reasons Apparently they do not provide shuttle to airport on weekends. Also,the reservation has to be 48 hours in They did call a taxi and was less expensive than a car service. But definitely not Free as their website says.

Our stay at the Edinburgh Dakota was very pleasant and comfortable. However, one of the reasons for choosing the Dakota was because of it's proximity to the airport and shuttle service. Unfortunately, we were advised that the free shuttle service would not be available to us for our departure to the airport which created an unplanned expense.

Wanted to stay close to airport last night in Scotland, so we could drop off rental car and shuttle to hotel, then shuttle back to airport in the morning to fly out. Dakota was listed as an airport hotel. Actually it’s a few miles from airport. When we reserved room 6 months earlier I called them to confirm they had shuttle service. They did. When we got there no shuttle. Driver on vacation. They seemed to blame us for not scheduling the shuttle. Not sure how that works because they admitted they can’t schedule 6 months ahead, and our room reservation was non refundable. So $200 extra for two rides we weren’t expecting. Rooms were nice and good sized. No refrigerator was disappointing. Overall decor had a real pretentious / hip vibe. There were a lot better options closer to the airport for our purposes.
