I paid over $300 CAD per night for a stay at the BLOC Hotel at Gatwick Airport, and unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations, especially considering it wasn’t even peak season. The front desk staff were not welcoming, which set the tone for the stay. There was no assistance provided with luggage, despite the room being on the 8th floor.
The room itself was incredibly small, making it challenging to move around comfortably. No space to keep the luggage. The TV felt outdated, with no options for streaming services like Netflix or YouTube, which are standard in most modern hotels. Additionally, the mattress was worn out, offering very little comfort for a restful night's sleep.
For the price, I expected much better facilities and service. I hope the management takes this feedback into account to improve the experience for guests.
