Great place to stay.
The service at Parklands is exceptional. I particularly loved the 'cooked to order' breakfast and the spa. The hydro pool is the best I have ever used and the swimming pool is above average size. Could do with a fridge in the rooms. Room tip: In the upgraded rooms there is a super deep bath which was great.

Rather disappointing
, we were looking forward to our 4 night stay here. The hotel reception is not obvious - a sign showing that the carpark and entrance is round the back would be useful. The rooms are large but the carpet in our room was stained and needed steam cleaning. Although the hotel's website does not actually state whether there is a fridge/minibar or a bottle of water in the room, we expected a hotel of this type would have these facilities. To have a bathmat, housekeeping would have to be contacted or one of the hand towels had to be used on the floor. One evening we wanted to have a drink and a sandwich in the bar/restaurant but were told that sandwiches were not available although they are shown on the room service menu. We bought some sandwiches from a local supermarket. If you stay during the summer there is no air con. The bathroom is large and modern but the heater in the bathroom is electric and involves getting on your hands and knees to read instructions and switch on. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location and within easy reach of shopping centres and motorway connections. There is a gym, swimming pool and spa facilities on site and although we didn't use them, they seem to be popular with local residents. Without these facilities on offer, the hotel would probably not be 4 star.

Fantastic stay
Fantastic overnight stay in the executive suite. The room was huge and the bathroom was gorgeous. Separate bath and walk in shower, was very luxurious. Used the spa and pool which was fantastic and not too busy so able to use all of the facilities. Loved the hot stone beds. Had a treatment which was very relaxing and reasonably priced. Dinner in Michaels restaurant was great and breakfast the following morning also excellent. Big portion on the Scottish breakfast. Every staff member we dealt with were very helpful and friendly, we will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Staff were very friendly and professional. I found that they went that extra mile to help you feel at home. The room we stayed in was exceptional. Roomy, comfortable, clean and quiet. The bed was wonderful. The food as well. I have to say - the breakfast was quite enjoyable. Breakfast is served hot, fresh food. and they know how to make a flat white which is always a positive in my books!
