Our visit was just a stop-over on the way home from vacation. This hotel is perfectly fine for such a purpose.
The check-in guy seemed to be of the opinion that he was doing us a favor checking us in. To get the king bed we reserved, we needed to take a room on the second floor. The problem is that this hotel as NO ELEVATOR, so we had to schlep up all our stuff for the night. So, it is an older hotel, but seems to have been renovated in the last couple of years, as the carpets and paint were in good condition.
The room itself was functional, The shower was the one really good feature. Even though this is a supposedly 'smoke free' hotel, a previous occupant obviously smoked, and the aroma was of lingering cigarette smoke, and the nasty cleaner they use to try and hide the smoke smell.
The check-out was smooth.
The continental breakfast was starchy, but OK. We got a yogurt and coffee, then went across the road to Tudor's Biscuit World for some real breakfast.
