This was our 3rd stay at Ocean Palms. We rented this time. Prior to this, we had stayed on a time share exchange. There were 3 of us and the rest of our family stayed next door at another resort. Check in was quick and easy, although, when my husband asked what the resort fee covered, the clerk did not know. She did not inform us that two charges, which were pending and never cleared, would show on our bank statement. $125 and $75 for “authorization.” The resort fee allows you to use the Westin Hotel pools and loungers at the pool, as well as charge food, drinks and services to your room. It does not allow you to park at the hotel. You must take the shuttle. The hotel and beach are exactly half mile away. When we went to the beach, we preferred to drive so we parked in the public metered lot at Islanders Beach. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. The condo was very clean and well stocked and beds were very comfortable. They do need updating. Furniture is very dated as well as appliances. Appliances are in good working order, just a bit dated. Bathrooms were large and very nice. We did use the Westin spa and it is exceptional. We had breakfast two mornings, which was also really good. We tried to go to View 32 one evening but they could not accommodate our group. The only real concern for us was not being able to park at the hotel since we like to bring our own chairs, umbrella and cooler to the beach. We would stay again because we like the location and we love Westin Hotel.
