The best thing about this hotel is the Gentleman at the front desk, JOHN. He is by far the most professional, caring and knowledgeable person I have come across as a frequent traveler. We were disappointed with our room, he tried multiple times until he gave us a free upgrade that we did not even ask for and he was extremely understanding and kind, had to run up and down multiple times. The property is old and tired. Long black hair in the bathroom and the water in the shower didn't flow properly but honestly we did not want to keep complaining as we were afraid to create more work and headache for John as he seemed to be the only one who genuinely cared.

Great stay at Downtown Houston
The hotel staff was friendly and able to accomodate to our needs. The shuttle service by the hotel comes in handy as we are catching a game at Toyota Center and we reached there on time thanks to the speedy shuttle.

Good location, staff were excellent. The only negative thing was at Edgar's, I went there on 3 seperate nights for a meal and drinks, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced but each night there was only 1 man working behind the bar which meant customers were having to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get served which was not acceptable. For this reason I have rated the hotel 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5
