Great location, just okay rooms
You are definitely paying for the amazing location and the historical charm. It is within walking distance of downtown Mount Dora and on the lake which is great. The rooms definitely show wear, the bathrooms require multiple flushes. Some of the quirks are charming such as using an actual key to get in the doors and the old time bathrooms. But mostly just seems like benign neglect to the room. Especially for the price you are paying. Would be more comfortable and have more amenities and cheaper at a Fairfield inn, would just not be as conveniently located.

I booked a stay for 3 nights nights for a family of four. I understand that this is a historic hotel however the conditions inside the room is very poor. The carpet is extremely old , sticky and even wrinkled. The little furniture there is, is very old and wobbly . I got a standard room with two double beds. Only 3 drawers for cloths and one small night table drawer , no chair, sofa or desk . I stayed in the gables building perhaps the other buildings are better. The shower had very low water pressure and the room very noisy. The beds were lumpy and linens extremely old . For the good , everything outdoor is fantastic . Very beautiful. The boat tour is great and they let you bring in drinks. Dinning is plentiful and walking distance. Too bad the rooms are not good.

Beautiful property, very historic and beautiful from the outside. I think the inside needs work to be more comfortable and still keep its charm. Room was musty, air was loud, absolutely no counter space in the bathroom and the bedding needed upgrading. It’s the second time we have stayed…can’t beat the location and views!

It was convenient to town, didnt have to use our car. Nice view of lake. Staff was friendly. I didn't like that it was pricey for food and the overall place looked old , shabby, and not clean.

Perfect getaway
This is the oldest still operational hotel in the state of Florida! Amazing history and the town is perfect for shopping. Lovely being on the water. SOOOO many choices for dining but the hotel has the best food.

Our first trip to Mount Dora, and we were extremely impressed with both the town and the Lakeside Inn. This will be our go-to weekend getaway going forward, thanks to the great location on the lake and the great facilities at the Inn itself. Charming is the best word to describe the hotel and the town. Highly recommended.

I loved that the property is right on the lake. we saw the best sunset. Front desk workers were so nice and quick checking us in. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced- with a very nice server. very walkable to shopping , lighthouse and boardwalk trails. The room was decent size and very clean . This Inn had everything to make a perfect getaway. only bad part was we couldn't stay longer!

THE PLACE TO STAY IN MT DORA
This is a very old hotel that has very old designs (no elevators), But it is extremely charming and this is where we always stay when going to Mt Dora.
