Lovely quirky room full of interesting things to see. Toiletries excellent A very refreshing change to chain hotels. Owners very helpful. Only down side - the bed was very soft- uncomfortable
Had a cheeky mid week stay at the Edwardian suites, had a lovely welcome. The rooms were quirky and spotless. Had a couple of gins down in the bar , it was so chilled , music was good and our host could not be more helpful.
Set in a busy hub on the high st just a 2 minute walk to the ilkley cow . Had an very good steak then a nightcap in the bar
Definitely stay again.
Large comfortable room with unique decor. Great location for exploring Ilkley and the surrounding area. Be aware there are some fairly steep entry stairs to get up to the rooms.
This is a strange place. It's a bed and "breakfast" located above a gin lounge.
First - you can't check-in before 4pm. In fact, you can't talk to anyone before 4pm. The gin lounge is closed and there are no instructions. If you arrive early, you are stuck with your bags until they open.
Second - there is no one there in the morning at all - hence the "breakfast". This may be not be a problem for some - for us it was an issue since we were hiking the Dales Way and needed someone to be on location for the luggage service to pick up our suitcase.
Third - the place is historically accurate - to the point where the bath tub is in the middle of the room and there is no door between the room and the toilet. Let's just say that you need to be in a very comfortable relationship with your SO.
I had an interesting and enjoyable stay.
I was welcomed warmly and the owners were delightful and very pleasant and helpful. It was a good thing that I am fit and agile as my suite was three floors up steep steps. The bed was very comfortable but low as was the chaise lounge, I was fine with this but could imagine it would be difficult for some guests.
There was tea and proper cafetière coffee and fresh milk and good shortbread biscuits. The decorations were authentic Edwardian.
The bathroom was large with a large bath. The wardrobe was in the bathroom.
I could connect with the free WiFi in the bathroom but not the bedroom.
The TV was Netflix and I had to get them to connect it to their account to be able to watch anything. I watched a film in the evening, however in the morning, connection had been lost and I had no password to connect so could not watch anything.
I went over the road to Bistrot Pierre for dinner and for breakfast, very good food and good value. Breakfast is not provided at the establishment.
The Gin Lounge underneath looked cosy, inviting and busy.
I did enjoy my stay.
We loved it here and will definitely be back. Cosy bed, massive bathroom with free-standing bath and gin bar downstairs - what more could you want?! The owners were lovely and very welcoming. Great central location, lots of nice restaurants nearby.
