Overall ok, but not great
It was ok, we stayed for one night. The check-in at night was not smooth, however, the reception cleared the issue in the morning. Given the wide range of available rooms shown on Hotels.com for this hotel at the time we searched for a room, we were located in a room on the first floor facing a construction site, which was not ideal and very noisy.

Check in process and staff were friendly. Room was clean, but smelled like smoke although non-smoking. Phone and air-con were not working. Curtain was half pulled off rail, so was hard to close. Room faced large construction so woke up to noise. Asked for room on other side, but was told all rooms on other side were single bed and was reluctant to change my room. Hotel good for a quick overnight stay.

This hotel's staff provide better service that 5 star hotels. The staff are so friendly i was actually sad to checkout. They offered help with everything, they're well-spoken, and very inviting.

10 day stay at Holiday Inn express
The overall condition is not as good as advertised. Bathroom condition is not well. Tile grouts are dark because of the dirt. Needs cleaning. Room was facing the backside of the hotel. They continued camera system replacement until midnight, despite our warnings. 3rd day was another renovation work with wall scraping noise throughout night time. 3rd floor hallway was fully covered with industrial glue scent. Was gone next day. Breakfast is good, not complaints whatsoever. Location is well-situated in Uskudar region. Highway access and taxi access are so easy. Location is recommended.

There is a big misunderstanding about meaning of a "king" bed! The hotel staff understand it as a double bed (150-160 cm wide). I understand it as 180-200cm wide bed suitable for two persons. There was a previous complaint on the same exact problem!
