Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Not great compared to the places in Beitou, but Jiaoxi has a lot less focus on the hot spring element. This hotel has a really nice size bath, but nothing particularly special about the facilities. The snacks and water availability are great. The breakfast is very good but standard. As long as you get a good price, I highly recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was in a separate building from the hotel which wasn’t great. Limited breakfast options. Hotel exterior was a little old and dirty, and to check into the hotel it would also be in a separate block which was confusing at first. Felt a lot more like a hostel but it’s acceptable for its price.

Disliked: Cleanliness
It's nice to have warm spring in your bathroom. There are also a lot of varieties for breakfast. However, parking space is very limited and the facility seems to be mingled with residents and Air B&B rental guests, so the overall staying experience is less than comfortable.
The hotel is very nice and clean. The hot spring bath is wonderful. they provide really nice breakfast and location is well situated with some restaurant and shop nearby. The staff are very nice and considerate.
Great place to relax with a big indoor hot spring tub. Got a free upgrade to a double decker room. Some key flaws: no power sockets on the bedroom level. Not much to do outside the room. Breakfast was quite excellent. Walking distance to many eateries. 1 hour hike to option of two waterfalls as well as a Catholic pilgrimage site.
Big. Suitable for group of friends and family as they have duplex units with 2 x double beds and very big bathrooms with big hot spring tubs and also showers.
Great location. Close to a local night market. Though it's small, its food is hugh-quality. It's way better than Dongmen near Yilan, which is more popular, but not as clean or delicious.
Behind the hotel are beautiful mountain trails. Paomagudao is a historical trail that leads into a quiet three layered waterfall.
There are also plenty of hot springs outside of the hotel. The hotel's hot springs are not readily available. They are open only on certain days during certain times...bummer
But at least you have your own personal hot springs bath In your room.
The staff was helpful and met all our needs. Breakfast buffet was simple and fresh.
In two days, you can easily see all of Jiaoxi. We traveled from one side to another and all around. The Jiaoxi train station makes it extremely easy to travel to nearby hot spots, like Wai'ao beach and Yilan.
I speak intermediate Mandarin and I found traveling and looking around smooth sailing. But it may be difficult to ease your way through the station to neighboring places if you don't speak Mandarin. Not a lot of people speak English here.
