Spacious and well lit rooms, comfortable beds. And excellent cooked to order hot breakfast. Slight negative is that the room needs good noise proofing, as we were disturbed by the noise from the other rooms and street.

Easy check in. Room comfortable family room. Excellent swimming pool, sauna etc Really friendly helpful staff. Good location in kendal

Greeted by a cheerful and friendly member of staff. Booked in and showed to our room, called the Collie room. A lovely picture of a collie dog on the wall and two collie dog mugs in the room. Cosy room with comfy bed. The only minor drawback was that there was no bedside lights which was slightly awkward for reading

We had the most wonderful night’s stay at The Gateway Inn - friendly smiley staff, superb drinks selection, delicious dinner (lamb henry and sea bass), comfy bed, sparkly clean bathroom, delicious breakfast (we had the most amazing eggs benedict with perfectly-poached eggs, plus the cereal, yogurt, fruit, granola, nuts and seeds, high-quality jam, toast, cheese, Nutella, tea and coffee….all for £8.95!). We couldn’t have asked for more for a rare getaway as parents of a tween and a teen. Thank you - highly recommend this place!

Great small country pub with friendly staff and excellent food and drinks. Don’t miss the included full English breakfast, it’ll get you going for a busy day of sight seeing.
