I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the appalling conditions and service at Days Inn and the subsequent poor customer service from Hotels.com. My recent stay was a nightmare from start to finish, and I feel compelled to warn others about my experience.
Upon arriving at Days Inn on the evening, we were immediately greeted by a severe damp smell in both rooms we had booked. This unbearable odor led to my children developing allergy symptoms, including coughing and itchiness, within hours of our arrival. The conditions were completely unacceptable, especially for a family with young children and an elderly mother.
Despite informing the hotel staff about the dire state of our rooms, no alternate rooms were offered. Instead, we were told that if we didn't like the conditions, we should check out and that they would process a refund through Hotels.com. Trusting their word, we left the hotel first thing in the morning, cutting our trip short and going through inconveniences, which completely spoiled our experience.
To make matters worse, upon contacting Hotels.com for the promised refund, we were informed that the hotel had refused to process the refund. The customer service from Hotels.com was equally appalling; they provided no assistance in resolving the issue, leaving us out of pocket and utterly frustrated.
This entire ordeal ruined what was supposed to be a memorable family trip to the Lake District. I would avoid both- this hotel and hotel.com.
