Property is under construction, no front desk, some guy was sitting on his dirty unmade bed in a bedroom that was also dirty checking in a guest. I had to walk over and around drywall sheets, cords and tools to go find the check-in. The hotel stunk like cheap cleaning solution, sweaty workers, drywall dust and food all mixed up. In what country is it acceptable to sit on a bed to check in a guest? What the heck is going on? I called and requested a full refund, as I could not stay in that unsanitary situation. Why have I not heard back yet, and that hotel should absolutely be put on a hold from any reservations at this time! Patiently waiting for a reply and full refund!!!

It's disgusting, I arrived there with garbage everywhere, the service was terrible, and there was no one to welcome me, I decided to leave, that hotel is a piece of garbage.I hope I get my money back, that hotel is horrible.

The check-in staff member was very friendly. Breakfast was mostly carbs, but it was nice to have something before a day of skiing. First thing we noticed about our room was the strong vinegar/fungal foot smell. We wasted way too much not-cheap perfume, spraying the room trying to make it tolerable. I also found pubic hair in the bed. Other than that, the room was tidy. Regarding toiletries, there are two small bars of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo, no conditioner. We had to go out and buy some.

If I had known..
The hotel is under construction, which is awkward walking through a room where men are working day and night. To follow, it is super unclear that the check in room is a literal room, where they check you in on a bed and clutter of items. I was in disbelief that this is how they are functioning.

Affordable, but needs better bed sheets.
One of the few affordable places to stay in Leadville, so treat it as such. Heat and hot water were fine. TV was fine. The only item that needs improvement were the bed sheets. The sheets for some reason were paper thin and did not hold any body heat. I had to put some of my ski liners on to stay warm throughout the night. Only thing they need to do is get some inexpensive down comforters and the stay will become a pleasant experience.

Cheap hotel in need of some updating
This hotel is really in need of an update. It’s barebones basic so if you’re just looking for a place to sleep then it’s ok. Leadville is a popular college town so you’d think accommodations would be better but there’s not much to choose from. Breakfast was also very basic. Staff was nice.

I was nervous about staying here given the reviews. Yes, the doors are not the best but I felt safe here. The staff were friendly. It’s super close to Mount Elbert & Mount Sherman. I’d stay here again. Ignore some of the reviews. It truly isn’t that bad.
