Our room has no hot water. The staff was helpful and gave us another room next door (which oddly worked fine). The change went a king to 2 queens, but it wasn't a huge deal. The next morning, when we took our shower, the steam set off the smoke detector, which wouldn't stop, long after the shower had ended. We ended up wrapping it in a towel, as it was the easy twist off detector type, and shut it in a drawer.
As we left, we took it out, but it went off again (30 minutes after the shower), so we kept it wrapped in the towel, and advised housekeeping.
Other then these issues, it was fine for one night. But it's two more issues than I normally face in every other hotel. On the plus side, the room was already a pleasant temperature when I entered. Most rooms are always hot and artist when I come in. The bed was ok, but nothing spectacular. I had some trouble sleeping, but I think that was on me, not the room.
I highly recommend the steakhouse across the street, Mountain Jack's. We always go there when we visit and/or pass through Lafayette on our way to Chicago.
