I will start with the positive note: staff did their job as they should, there was no exceptional customer service but it was not bad either. Major con: First time back in Nigeria after 6 years and I am disappointed in this and many other hotels. I am not picky but expect a certain minimum standard of cleanliness in a hotel. I was given room 208 and on entering the hall way, there appeared to be what looked like a huge shaped mold or mark from water leakage on the ceiling of the 2nd floor. Absolutely disgusting. In my room, the bed was too soft and not at all comfortable for me. The bathroom was dirty, you could tell that it was cleaned on surface level, but there were many dirt marks from in the cracks and crevices of the bathroom from a lack of actual deep cleaning. The shower head was also dirty. I checked in at about 6PM and checked out for my next flight the following morning by 5AM So I did not get to see much with daylight. But it is disappointing to see that a hotel of this nature, that obviously pays staff to clean, does not ensure that cleaning job is inspected for deep cleaning. In a short while, a lot of those molds and dirt in the bathroom will become permanent. Please do better.

My stay was in two parts. I left and returned due to the amazing service I received the first time, which I didn't get at the other hotel I checked into. The staff were brilliant in their job and always have a smile on their face, from the receptionists to the cleaners. Definitely recommend this hotel if you're visiting Ikeja Lagos.

We had the pleasure of staying Shoregate hotel, during our wedding weekend, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s professionalism stood out. They were attentive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect. The cleanliness of the entire facility was impeccable. Every space, from our suite to the common areas, was spotless and well-maintained, which added to the comfort of our stay. It was clear that the staff took great pride in keeping the venue pristine. Service throughout our stay was outstanding. Whether it was the front desk assisting with last-minute requests or the housekeeping staff ensuring our rooms were perfect, every interaction was handled with care and attention to detail. The team made us feel truly valued, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Overall, we had a memorable and stress-free wedding weekend. It is centrally located with easy access to transportation, and also a walking distance to places of interest. The reception lobby can compare to hotels in other countries! The hotel made provision to accommodate guests in sitting areas located on individual floors. The staff are friendly and professional, which is a perfect combination. The variety of food presented at the breakfast buffet is commendable. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far and have to keep reminding myself this is Lagos! The rooms are beautiful with no expense spared on the quality of furniture, shower, toiletries etc. The only con would be the state of the gym which requires updating but the facilities are functional. Overall, I am impressed and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. I hope the standard is maintained.

The outside and inside is beautiful, like the fact they had good breakfast options and helpful staff. My bathroom just sound like water was constantly running in the toilet like when the tank is filling. And a screeching sound when you sit on the toilet. I also think there’s signs of mold in the bathroom, maybe from humidity from hot water and no way to properly get it out quick.
