Our room had a strong smell of vomit and it was generally a bit tired. The lady on reception was excellent. Super friendly and helpful and sorted us a new room which unfortunately smelled of cigarette smoke but was tolerable. This property is definitely getting a bit dated and could do with a refresh but ok for the price and staff were excellent.
We enjoyed our stay at Sails. We had a pool view family room and it was pleasant for a nights stay. The property is a little dated but it’s quiet and the outlook over the water is lovely.
Large room overlooking garden (we were offered free upgrade). Onsite restaurant was fine. We ate on the outside deck which was lovely. Pool onsite but we didn’t use. Central location and easy to find. Staff good.
The room is adequate in size and we were upgraded to a room overlooking the pool to the water. Nice. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Great breakfast. The price was higher than most places in town.
we stayed in a lovely suite overlooking the water.
The suite has a lawn area around it and other hotel guests do walk around hotel and suite. So we kept the soft curtains closed for privacy which detracted from the views
Can also be a bit noisy when there is music playing in venues opposite the hotel
Unfortunately this stay didn’t live up to our expectations from the pictures and cost for the stay.
First room we were in the air conditioning didn’t work it was facing west so really hot, the duty manager at reception was lovely and moved us to a different room.
Unfortunately second room wasn’t much better but didn’t want to seem difficult so didn’t say anything.
The king bed was well used with large body dips in the mattress making it very uncomfortable and causing a very sore back over the 4 nights we stayed.
The bathroom had no window and exhaust fan was broken causing mould on the ceiling and in the grout. A hole that looked like it had been punched in the door had been badly patched, the handle barely worked to open and close the door.
There were stains in the carpet in the room that looked ‘interesting’. And on door frame into the room red stains like blood.
Overall stay was average it’s definitely not worth the price tag.
The pool area looked tired with some of the plastic seating broken but not removed. A heavier person could have hurt themself on it.
Good room, great pool, awesome location.
Breakfast wasn't great, room service cuts off at 8:45, lacking on the mini bar in terms of food, only choclate bars (Woolworths a short walk) Basic bar, nothing great and extremely pricey.
Pool area tables a little untidy and not cleaned regularly.
Would stay there again without paying for breakfast.
Thanks so muh for a wonderful stay, everything was perfect, friendly staff and facilities.
Location was good as we could walk to lots of clubs, cafes, shops etc.
We didn't eat at the property but did get coffee there and it was perfect.
Would definitely return and do recommend.
The property is nice enough but the fact that I paid for a expensive room and there was no hot water and there was a stain on the chair at the desk that looked like it had come from somebody’s crutch was quite of putting to say the least.
We were upgraded to a Executive suite which was a lovely surprise and the suite was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However we thought it was penny pinching charging additional for parking. It would be better to have it all inclusive. Also the restaurant we would rate as 3.
The team at Sails consistently exceeded expectations and delivered a great family experience for our weekend. From booking through arrival, dinner and our check-out they did everything they could to ensure our stay was exceptional.
Well done, congratulations and thank you to the Sails Port Macquarie team.
