Staff didn't speak English but it wasn't a problem. Check in and booking a table to eat was fine. There was a set menu which wasn't written down which was absolutely delicious and such good value for money. Again, breakfast was all already laid out on arrival on each table so I felt very catered for. There was free wifi and ample parking on site. There is a sign visible from the road so it's very easy to find.
But. After a long 6-7 hour drive I was very tired. The curtains in the room didn't draw properly which was odd but it wasn't too bad, the room wasn't too light. Then as I'm lay in bed trying to relax, a church bell rings. One dong. So I open my window to take a picture of how close the church is and I hear the most almighty thunderous noise I have ever heard in my entire life. Which just gets louder and goes on for longer. Because the hotel is near a military air field. So I get back in bed and the chuch bells start chiming the hour. Then I hear another plane from the air field which, to be fair wasn't as loud or long the second time. Shortly after that though, I hear bugles playing horns. And when that stops? The chruch bells. It was like something out of a comedy. The church rings on the hour and there is a single dong every half hour. Even through the night. And 7 O'clock in the morning means get out of bed because the bells ring continuously for 3 minutes. Not what you need before a 9 hour drive back to the uk!!!! But the hotel itself was fabulous.
