The staff were extremely accommodating. It was a last minute booking and we were helped out greatly. The accommodation was of a very good standard and the location was excellent to access the main sites in Lisbon.

If you want to feel you're in a hospital room...
We booked a standard double room for 2 nights. On our arrival, we received an accessible room on the ground floor behind the reception that had handicapped designed bathroom (if you can call it design, see pictures), that made us feel like we're in a hospital room. We asked the reception to change to a standard one as we didn't book such a room, and was told that they don't have anything else available for that night, and we just heard excuses and stories that most of their rooms have the same handicapped bathroom, they have large groups of physically disabled persons that come to their hotel so they need to have many rooms like that, and that they are obligated by the government to have those rooms. We were only offered to talk with the manager the next morning to see if they have another room. The next day they did transfer us to a different room in a higher floor, not before we heard the same excuses again, and they never even once offered an apology for that awful room and all the inconvenience (we had to pack all of our stuff and leave it in the room for them to move it later to the new room, as it wasn't ready yet around noon). While it's understandable they are regulated to have such rooms, they should be booked as a separate room type and not provided for standard rooms!! The new room was nice, however there was bad sewer smell coming from the bathroom. We didn't bother to mention it, as we didn't want to move again and just waited to checkout in the morning.
The most uncomfortable toilet, with a quarter of the toilet bowl/seat missing in the front.
The 'friendly' shower with emergency cord surrounding the walls.
A hospital sink
You can't even lift the bar to the right of the toilet. It's fixed to the wall.

We stayed here for 3 nights with two young kids. It was a nice, comfortable place to stay and walkable to many landmarks. The breakfast was convenient and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location
The location of this hotel was awesome. Its close by the center, lots of restaurants, shops, train station and a lot of tourist attractions. Cyril the guy who checked us in was very helpful and kind. Our room was cleaned everyday and accommodated my family of 5 fine. The hotel is old so keep in mind that everything isnt in the best condition but it was expected when visiting. Because it being old, i could here the people above us when they walked around and our shower doesn't have a door so water got all over the floor. Overall, I'd rate the service and location a 10 but the condition of the hotel a 7.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Casual Belle Epoque Lisboa. It was our first time in Lisbon and this location was great for exploring the city. Close to all of what the city has to offer.

arrived at the hotel and checked in no drama. the room smelled HEAVILY of perfume (all over the linens and thick in the air). this would not have been a deal breaker, just unpleasant except there were also dead bugs ALL over the room including on the bed. when we called the front desk, someone came up and felt terrible, claiming that the bugs must have come in through the air vent. gross. ended up requesting a refund and stayed elsewhere.

My stay was great. Carlos and Cyril were amazing , always had suggestions for restaurants, transportations, sight seeing. I picked my seif accidentally and Carlos was helping me out at 7 am. Lovely! excellent customer service, great location
This hotel is a charming old building with lots of character. Location is excellent! In Chiado, near all the amazing restaurants, view points, walkable to all the beautiful sites in Baixa, easy to catch trams, buses, near the Metro, close to shopping. The breakfast is delicious! Service #1 everyone is kind, friendly, they even packed our breakfast when they knew we were checking out before breakfast times! The shower pressure is excellent, bathroom quite big compare to European standards. Its just 20 min away from the airport, we used Uber to travel to the airport, super affordable ride :10 € included tip, and arriving by train is very easy and short ride from Santa Apolonia Station.

Alright place. Outdated. Definitely not a 4-star hotel, 3 at best. Room were ok, but sewer smell from bathroom early in the mornings. Cleaning staff tries to compensate by adding scents.
