The hotel charged me the reservation fee, and I drove 8 hours with my family to get there. We arrived at 4 a.m., but the front desk person refused to give us our room, claiming check-in ended at 11 p.m. and marking us as a "no-show." I explained that I was here now, needed to get some sleep and that the hotel had already charged me for the stay. We were all exhausted, but she insisted that if I wanted to stay, I would have to pay again. Otherwise, I could not access the room from my original reservation.
I told her that in this case, we would have to sleep in the car, which was unacceptable, but she said there was nothing she could do. This was the worst and most terrible trip I have ever experienced, with horrendous customer service from the hotel. To make matters worse, Expedia told me that since the hotel marked me as a "no-show," they could do nothing except request a refund on my behalf. It was truly a nightmare.
