I liked:
Business, location, staff friendliness and efficiency
Wasn't so keen on:
Room lighting didn't work very well - couldn't use the switches by the bed but didn't report it so they didn't have a chance to remedy this
Asked for a quiet room but got a room directly above the rail track so noisier than I'd hoped

Disliked: Cleanliness
I have stayed at Copthorne Tara more than 10 times, but this time, it was not up to the usual standard. The check in was very slow (the clerk had forgotten he person login password) we were promised an upgrade, but to the club level, but that did not actually happen. The room was not very clean, grubby sheets with some stains, dirty bathroom and carpet. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash containers in the bathroom were nearly empty and the body wash was empty.
I really enjoy the location of this hotel and hope that this is just a blip and that things will improve.
It was very close to High Street Kensington for station and shopping and within walking distance of many attractions. We were delighted to have an upgrade to a room with a view (a suite!) and to be greeted by the charming and helpful Devi on reception with her lovely smile. The concierge was also very friendly and helpful.
We have stayed at the Copthorne several times in the past but not recently until now. The property is dated and in dire need of modernization. We arrived to days old Chinese takeout forgotten in the fridge. We asked for it to be removed and someone did come to get it.
Inconvenient bathtubs that one has to climb into, dingy towels, the sink did not drain. The coffee maker was missing from the room and it took. several calls for it to be replaced. The walls were scuffed and marked, a coat of paint would have done the job. The staff's response in every instance was lackluster and most unhelpful. At no time was an apology or explanation offered. In fact when I called reception to advise it was the third time I was asking for the coffee maker I was told that if I got off the phone, she would see what she could do about getting one for me.
I must mention that the location is superb and lots to see and do within walking distance.
I left the Copthorne Tara feeling disappointed and let down. I know that they can do better.
Tiny "double bed". I complained to reception about the hot and stuffy room. They promised to send someone from maintenance to adjust the AC. But no one turned up so we had two sleepless nights.
I would like to thank with a five star rating Naveem on house kerping and his ho est.team
As.i.had left an expensive watch in the room
Slso.a big shout out to John.on.front of house for his efficiency to retrieve it
Thank-you

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This is our second stay - convenient to underground and going out into central London so hits the spot there.
However, room on this stay not so good - smaller than before, furniture not the best (drawer kept sliding open next to bed - not great when getting out of bed). Double glazing not so effective against noise of the trains and a foil covered (heating?) pipe visible from floor to ceiling as not boxed in.
Finally, bit stunned that the bar in the hotel was closed at 10.50pm - we had been to theatre and wanted a last drink - it was closed! The alternative was a sales station selling bottled beers, tins and snack - got to say, felt ripped off. Nearly £6 for a big packet of crisps and £6 each for a bottle of beer and a tinned G&T. profiteering at its worst - I feel quite angry I succumbed to this but was quite tired at the time.
On that basis suggest the Amazon supermarket on the high street or go to a Tesco express
Saying all that, bed comfortable and hotel/staff good. Won’t put me off staying again (although will be asking for room away from railway side!) and will use lessons learned.
