Overnight stay as we were attending an event. Room was ok, comfy bed, clean sheets, bathroom a bit dated, but trying to get from the 9th floor to the lobby when only one of the 3 lifts was working was horrendous, being of a certain age and not being to good with walking the stairs were out of the question, lots & lots of people trying to get off/on one lift was mad, stopping at every floor because someone had pressed for the lift but decided to walk the stairs after waiting it felt like you were on there for hours, waited definitely over 5 mins for the lift on Sunday to go to the lobby, to be honest I was worn out, breakfast was a busy place, had to wait for plates, wasn’t overly keen on the bacon & sausage personal taste, it was once a place we’d stay for a treat, not keen anymore, disappointed..

The room and location were very good. Although breakfast was good and the staff working flat out there was always a wait for replacement food which did detract from having a relaxing breakfast. There was only one lift functioning which made many people wait a long time. The stairway where carpeted smelt musty and unpleasant and the carpet was very worn, not in keeping with the price of staying at the hotel.

The views were excellent. Good facilities once there. I didn't like the dining options, although they initially seemed plentiful. The grill restaurant was closed and we were not informed to book elsewhere so limited options, all later than we wanted. We chose Rafters and it was very expensive, a minibus ride away, table water was charged for and a service charge was automatically added whether warranted or not (i personally thought it wasn't deserved) I also thought disabled access was poor. There were many steep areas in the grounds with no handrails or anything to help. The hotel itself had 1/3 lifts working to room floors and the one that was working was ofteñ full. At checkout time i had to wait about 25mins to get into a lift (i am disabled and do not find stairs easy). Considering there are 10 floors this was extremely annoying to others also. The parking also annoyed me. I find it hard to walk long distances and so was forced to use the underground parking which was considerably more expensive. Overall, a good experience but not worth the money. Would say not recommended unless money no concern.

My trip from the very start was poor, on arrival after a 4 hour drive I was looking forward to a bath, once into my room it was evident that the bath hadn’t been cleaned from the previous occupants, there was a line of facial / leg hair all around the water line. On my second night after purchasing a bottle of sparkling water the waitress pored at least a 3rd of the bottle on me / the table and didn’t replace it, this wasn’t cheap at the price but no refund was offered. The early hours of the second night I was woken by someone trying the door, they were clearly drunk and got the wrong door. On going down for breakfast before check out (10th floor) we found only one lift worked, it took 10 minutes to get to the lobby! We then had to walk up / down the 15 flights of stairs as it was so busy to collect our belongings and leave. Overall a shocking experience from S Wales premier hotel!

Absolutely amazing stay. From the start when we entered the hotel until the end. Amazing comfortable room, perfect food and loads to do for families. Pool is a must visit if you are holidaying there. Great inspirations for Halloween decoration - which our daughter found very inspiring and interesting. We hope to come back again hopefully for longer then 2 days.Special thank you to great team and amazing service from concierge and restaurant. Great welcome and help from Mrs Jarmila Kubicova. She gave us loads of tips to visit around the Newport. Thank you again.

Lovely stay at Celtic manor
Hotel was good room was very hot. Which wasn’t great . The staff was friendly even though I had tomato sauce splash over the back of my clothes and trainers. They was apologetic. But accidents happen. It was great having a singer in one bar and a dj in another.

The stay at the hotel was absolutely amazing. I was really disappointed with the food at the Pad. I had called over a week before to make a booking and told them my dietary requirements. I was told that someone will get in touch if they need to. When I went down for my food they said there were no details on record.

Not for the girls….
Not very suitable for a girls away spa break due to limit of 45 minutes in pool area using facilities!!!!! We expected a full day of relaxation and pampering. Also the 2ndpool offered has no loungers or space for relaxation- it felt like a functional pool for the golfers and gym heads to cool off not a relaxation space at all. The sauna also want working. The activities offered were extremely limitedso we couldn’t do any of those either… it also wasn’t relaxing having to schedule everything with bookings- every meal had to be booked in advance … definitely not a pamper spot at all.

Comfy stop but the room service was poor
Love the comfort of the Celtic manor. Rooms are great WiFi is strong for work. However I ordered room service and the food was freezing. Have eaten in the room before and was lovely. This time I ended up eating it stone cold as I don’t like to complain to have to wait again for food as I was hungry. Will stop again but will probably go out for food next time

Amazing entrance but ends there
I booked this as a weekend stay for my Wifes birthday. When we arrived it was very impressive and the room was nice too. However, the first night wasn't the best as the bed was quite uncomfortable and the pillows compressed into someting similar to laying your head on a paving slab. Breakfast the next morning was absolute carnage. It was like being in a motorway services on a friday afternoon. Not sure how they could remedy that though, maybe a bigger restaurant or use some of the other restaurants in site. Second night we ordered room service. The meal arrived slightly cold and with only one set of cutlery. I called down to request more cutlery but it never arrived. I ended up eating a cold steak and chips with my fingers and a sticky toffee pudding with a teaspoon from the drinks making tray. Then another poor nights sleep. I mentioned the room service issue to the reception on checkout and they apologised and refunded the 2 main courses, but the whole meal was pretty much spoilt. I can deal with the meal not being hot or the staff forgetting the cutlery, but not bringing any up after calling down was out of order. It's an expensive hotel and should be better than this. Also, parking shouldbe free at these prices. After this experience i probably would look for somwhere else next time.
