This was our second time staying here while visiting our son who attends UVA. The hotel is in such a great location. We were able to walk from the football stadium to the Corner, and then to our hotel. Later on, walked to all the good restaurants on Main st (Public Fish and oyster), Black Cow chophouse etc. The staff at this hotel are very nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable as well.
Autumn a front desk lady was awesome !!! The kindest full of wanting to help us as guest there should be more people in this business like her . I didn’t get to stay in the hotel much as I had a sister in the hospital there but the first floor area was very nice & breakfast a big plus ❤️ I will stay there again if I come back!
This hotel was very nice. It was very clean and inviting. Being close to the hospital while my husband was there fior surgery, was a huge plus gir me. The only thing that i was.unsurecof was hearing lots of yelling outside. Not sure where exactly the yelling was coming from, but not something.i liked hearing, however, i dint hold the hotel responsibel for it. Id we have to come back again, this hotel will be our first choice.
The bed is too tall. I need a step stool
Otherwise it was very comfy.
I like the soft pillows
I like the blind options of black out vs still can tell daylight vs dark out
Paula’s friendliness and customer service is second to none! Even when a rude man entered and completely interrupted our flow when I was being checked in, she remained calm, helpful and smiled. A woman then came in with two dogs and interrupted us too, but Paula was wonderful and diffused the situation when the dogs started sniffing my pant legs😳

Surrounding area and parking lot was not very attractive. There were only two handicap parking slots outside of the lobby entrace but 5 Diamond member slots surrounding the two handicap slots. A third handicap slot was located around the back of the building. There were a number of small restaurants near by but limited parking. Street in front of hotel was very busy. Bed and pillows were not that comfortable.
The main goal of any hotel, motel, inn, air bnb should be to provide guests with a restful night(s) sleep. This was not possible in the room I was given. It was on the second floor facing Main St. I was constantly awakened by sirens, horns, loud car exhaust, and loud music coming from cars. My first night (a Friday) I got maybe two hours of uninterrupted sleep after a 10 hour drive. I spent the next day of my visit exhausted and trying to get some rest. The next night of my visit was marginally better, but my sleep was still interrupted by the sounds mentioned above. I brought this to the attention of the person at the desk and was treated as if this was just part of the experience. No offer to change my room to a quieter part of the hotel. I have stayed in hotels in NYC, Singapore, Hong Kong, SF, and many other locations in cities larger than Charlottesville where the same noises exist but have never been awakened and kept awake because the rooms were better insulated for sound. The only way I knew an emergency vehicle was driving by was the flashing lights in the window. If you stay in this hotel, do yourself a favor and insist on being assigned a room that is NOT facing Main St. For the money I paid for a two-night stay, this issue is unacceptable and the worst hotel of experience of my life. The lack of attentiveness of the staff to this issue compounded my aggravation and frustration. Ridiculous is another word that comes to mind.
Overall we had a very good experience. The day clerk recommended a very good restaurant. We stayed 2 nights. We were disappointed to learn they clean the rooms every other day. We ran out of towels (front desk was accommodating), and other items. The breakfast offered was average at best. We would stay there again due to the convenience of access to the UVA medical facilities.
It is pet friendly, however there are not any designated grassy areas for dogs on the property. If your dog likes to use grass, you have to find it on surrounding street sidewalks. Otherwise, the stay was great.
I came down to the breakfast area, which I believe is open until 10am, looking for a family member. It was a few minutes before 10 and I wasn’t looking for anything to eat, but was “greeted” by an old lady telling me “we’re closed “ with an attitude. So much for southern hospitality. Wont be staying here again.
