Great location & parking. Rooms are clean spacious and quiet. Wifi good.
Breakfast is good, evening food is limited but there are loads of restaurants nearby.
The hotel is pricey, but still cheap compared to Parisien or coastal prices.
We booked an overnight stay on our way from Puy du Fou to San Sebastián just to crush, but ended up spending the whole day in this lovely town - all thanks to the friendly and courteous gentleman at the reception: I saw the map of town and asked if i can take one and at once he draw me the whole "walking tour" of town. The location of the hotel is very convenient, rooms are clean snd comfortable.
A very good hotel in the heart of Niort with parking, as it was New Years day the restaurant was not open but breakfast was very good. staff were welcoming and we will definitely return
Have used this as stop-over on a number of occasions. Lovely quiet area, 3 min walk from gorgeous town centre. Upgrade & recent refurb made for a great stay. Restaurant is pricey, but the food....
Great location, within walking distance of town centre, comfortable room, swimming pool was great with sun beds and towels provided, great breakfast and all staff really happy, welcoming and efficient
The hotel was standard Mercure - smallish room but clean. Paper cups for tea and now shower gel dispensers instead of small bottles. No complaints but nothing special. We didn't use the pool or restaurant so can't comment on them. Parking was great - lots of space. We were a bit disappointed with the town and if we returned would stay closer to La Rochelle. We stayed here to cycle the Venise vert but it is a bit further out than we thought.
The best hotel in the city. They have a very nice hotel restaurant and bar, but it is worth the short walk if weather permits down to a group of very good local restaurants.
It didn't start well when we were given a smoking room with small bed. It took staff a long time to find us a non smoking room (which I had booked in advance). The room we had was good. You can walk into town easily which we did. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. Parking on site is free and plentiful.

Central Niort Hotel
Generally an enjoyable stay in the hotel. Staff were very helpful without being intrusive. Our room overlooked the car park which was full of mature trees and neighbouring buildings. The room was clean and kept that way with daily maid service.
It was warm and comfortable. There was however a general lack of clothes storage space, which might not matter of your stay is only one or two nights but for our weeks stay we never really properly unpacked . There was a wardrobe which had two large shelves. There were no drawers anywhere for small stuff or underwear.
The bed was very comfortable and lighting was quite good.
There was free high speed wifi everywhere in the hotel right out to the car park. We had a flat screen medium sized TV with a couple of english speaking programs.
The bathroom was well equipped with shower gel supplied.
Breakfast was extra to our room rate at 15 euros each which, although there was plenty, I thought expensive for what amounted to a continental break fast as the only cooked choice was scrambled eggs and a bit of sausage and bacon kept warm all morning on a bain marie. We usually ate late so there was very little warm stuff left. There was a good choice of fruit and juice, bread, croissants and other baked goods. Cheese meats and other local specialities. There was fruit and yogurts and cereal.
There was a couple of gluten free options but nothing for those who are lactose intolerant. So no milk or greek yogurt unless you bring your own.
