I nice hotel near Coos Bay.
This is my second stay at the Edgewater in a couple of years. The purpose of my visit was to take photos of the large waves at a local state park in Oregon. Overall, the hotel is good. The room is large and comfortable. I just have a few very minor issues. First, the location is behind a grocery store and not a favorite location. Second, you had to perform several steps to get the TV to work. There were no instructions. And finally, there were no locks on the outside doors. Again, very minor quibbles. Overall, I would stay there again.

Comfortable but could improve
Comfortable stay. A few suggestions to improve: - Add sheer blinds instead of only black out shades. - Add microwave, especially since breakfast is not offered - Add better lighting at the vanity. The two can lights overhead are bright, but the done shine on the face, so hard to see for makeup. - could use more or better decor. Kind of bland as it is.

The staff was friendly and rooms were clean, the hotel was currently under remodel so the jacuzzi was not in service at the time, but the pool was fun. The entire town had a power outage during our stay so it was an unusual experience while checking out in the dark. Overall it was great experience because the staff were friendly and it was great how they dealt with the circumstances.

There was no microwave oven in the room. That was terrible! I cannot believe they renovated this whole place with no microwave oven! Unbelievable! Without this amenity, we will no longer stay here.

We stayed just one night. The room was clean. The room was huge. It had a lovely balcony which we would have used if it wasn't December.

The rooms are huge and very clean. The pool is large, warm, and my kids loved it. The jacuzzi was down for maintenance which was a bummer but it didn't take away from our stay. There was a balcony that overlooked the bay and it was beautiful. The day we were to check out, my son had an appointment he forgot about that was scheduled for 11 am online. Checkout was also scheduled for 11 am. I called the front desk and the manager and requested a late check-out and they obliged without hesitation. Then came the earthquake followed by the tsunami warning. One of the most terrifying experiences of my life. The staff - especially the housekeeping staff - were all so kind and sweet, making sure I was updated. One housekeeper in particular, a gorgeous young girl, came to find me after they cancelled the tsunami warning, seeing my son first and asking for his mom, to let me know that we were all okay. The value of this place for the price is spectacular. We will definitely be going back!

Nice place, poor beds
Clean, updated decor and furnishings. I'd stay again, but the beds have innerspring mattresses and aren't very comfortable. With every single move my partner made, the bed would shake. This, coupled with the noise of the oldstyle heat/air wall unit cycling on and off, I slept very poorly. If you are a heavy/deep sleeper, it probably won't bother you.
