The room had a weird smell, maybe mildewy or something like that. Also, when I arrived at 1am, my room door was not shut all the way. I inspected the room and it was fine, but then it happened again after I was gone all day at a conference. I explained to the front desk person that anyone could have come in my room while I was out at any point and taken my stuff. Luckily I brought my valuables with me to the conference, but she didn’t seem too concerned with my complaint, which I thought was odd.

The front desk manager was very nice, the hotel was the cleanest I’ve stayed at in Madison so far, and the breakfast far exceeds the buffets I’m used to. I would happily stay again.

The breakfast options were nice. The area shopping was convenient. The staff all seemed friendly and nice. The biggest concern was the smell in the room. I am not certain what the smell was from. I believe it is an old building with old appliances and the smell is embedded in the flooring, walls, and or appliances but it was very strong and offensive.

This hotel was way better than the price!
Very happy with this hotel and location. The shower/tub was one of the best we’ve been in. The tub was a large oval marble focus. The shower curtain never got near me. The water pressure and hot water were plentiful
