This hotel did not appear to us to merit a 4 star rating. It is in an excellent situation on the Gran Via. Our check in was extremely disorganised with staff insisting we had booked for three people. An extra bed had been made up in our room and we were told we were paying for 3 breakfasts! Our info from hotels.com clearly stated 2 pax. The room was basic and of travel lodge standard. On first look it seemed clean but the bin beside the toilet had a lid that had been ‘splashed’ and was not cleaned. Shower grouting was grubby on outside. There was no bathroom - a toilet cubicle (no wash basin beside toilet) and shower and basin were in the room. There was no evening turndown service. Towel supply limited. Breakfast was of poor quality although plentiful. Staff were clearly overstretched. When tables were cleared after use, unused cups and cutlery were left on the table for the next customer! On 2 occasions we were addressed rudely by staff. We love Madrid but we were delighted to leave this hotel.

This is a very good hotel. Would stay again. The outside noise of traffic was loud at night. I would want a room in another area of the hotel. I had a nice size suite.

It's good hotel, I just find it lacks facilities for the money. There is no grand entrance, no pool or spa. The reception is on 7th floor. It's cozy. I think in genereal the hotel should be rated 3 *, not 4. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. Service is regular. Free water/juice, which is nice touch. Location is cetral but very very noisy. We had to sleep with closed windows

We stayed in a Townhouse room in October 2024 which was perfect for us and our 14 year old daughter, as she had a separate room. The room (s) were very comfortable and clean, with a great bathroom and shower. We felt very happy with the location as it was so central for walking to all the main sights. The main downside was the unpleasant breakfast. The items were of very poor quality, e.g. very sugary jam, cheap bread etc. The chef on breakfast duty seemed unable to fry eggs as they were quite burnt around the edges and cold in the middle, yet she continued to cook pile after pile of these eggs even though it was not busy at all. The coffee was unpleasant and cold by the time we got back to the table. The breakfast chef replied a rude 'no' when I asked if there were any mushrooms. The breakfast really let the hotel down, a few simple adjustments and this could be improved. The Reception staff were fairly neutral, not especially friendly or welcoming, e.g. wordlessly handing over a map of the city when my husband requested one. They all seemed to be very busy with eyes fixed on their their computers. The worst thing about this hotel was the unpleasant breakfast. The best things about this hotel was the location, lovely Townhouse room and the rooftop bar area.

Clean, spacious room. We had a room that faced the courtyard to avoid noise from the street in Gran Via. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Lounge and rooftop were highlights!
