Beautiful cabin but needs cleaning
The cabin is beautiful but needs to be cleaned. The first thing we found in the cabin was a dead bat on the couch. We could tell it had not been cleaned, swept or vacuumed in a while. Super dusty and the rooms were really stuffy. Water pressure not great and no cable in the main living room. It was okay for 2 nights but we had to do a lot of cleaning to get rid of dust and bugs.

Great view and location... needs a few repairs.
We've rented dozens of homes in this area over the past 30 years. We usually rent much higher up for a great view. This house has a beautiful view while still being a short drive up a paved mountain road. The covered wrap-around porch was a big plus, as was the large gas grill and the strong wi-fi. But.. beware the almost nonexistent upstairs AC. It was too warm to sleep up there. The TV in great room did not work: directions were to watch it via Roku, but there was no Roku. We were able to stream Netflix. There's an odd mix of updated vs outdated finishes, furnishings and appliances. Refrigerator had trouble keeping all of our things cool and there was no working water line. That meant there was no way to make ice and no filtered in-door water. The steps to the basement are precariously placed next to the kitchen and the handrail doesn't run all the way up. I wouldn't want a small child in this house. Great potential, just needs some repairs and TLC.

The view is worth the drive!
The driveway to this property is a bit dicey, but the view is worth it. It was very quiet and peaceful. The house was great, but could’ve used some window cleaning and a few spare blankets.

Comfortable house with an extraordinary view!
My husband and I wanted a quiet and cool place to enjoy family time with our adult children and to recharge our batteries after last year’s lockdown. We definitely found what we wanted in this beautiful and comfortable house with gorgeous views of the Smoky Mountains. The pictures of the swing and the rocking chairs on the spacious porch were what sold me on this house and they did not disappoint! We had a couple rainy days during the week we were there and we enjoyed them as much as we did the sunny days. The furniture was rustic and comfortable and my husband and sons enjoyed a few games on the pool table downstairs. We enjoyed cooking meals in the spacious kitchen and my son cooked some wonderful steaks on the gas grill. The beds were comfortable and the fact that each bedroom had its on bathroom was definitely a plus. Maggie Valley is a lovely little town with some good places to eat and the drive to Waynesville for groceries was very easy. I loved my time in this beautiful mountain home…the week went by much too quickly!

Nice view
The view was great as the smoky valley could be seen from the porch or better from the loft. The view is becoming slightly obstructed by growing trees but still nice today. The home needs some updates. Replacing beds, resurfacing the pool table and replacing the carpet would do wonders.

Nice cabin
the cabin was very nice with bedrooms on 3 levels which worked well for our group. We enjoyed sitting on the porch enjoying the view and watching the hummingbirds eating from the feeder.

Great deck with a great view.
Overall, we had a great time at High Hopes. The view was amazing, watching the sunrise right in front of the house over the valley. The house itself was pretty easy to find and not too far off the main road, grant it up a steep side of a mountain, but that is how you get the views. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the HUGE wrap around deck. Sitting on the rocking chairs watching the hummingbirds and even listening to the rain. They even had a location to put up a hammock on the deck, which we happened to bring ours, so that was nice! The TVs were also upgraded from the photos with now two large flatscreens, one on the main floor and one in the basement. There were some things that could have made things better. First was the number of plates, definitely could use another 8 place setting. There were only 5 of us and we could have used more at times. Most of the plates were chipped too. Maybe having some more plastic plates for kids would be good too. More cups would be nice too, again some more plastic ones for the kids too. A few more blankets to snuggle up in would be nice, but not sure that is possible with the management company. The linens for the pull-out couches did have stains on them and could be changed out by the management company. Finally, the AC on the top floor basically doesn’t exist. During the summer (when we were there) we had to freeze out the first two floors to cool off the top floor due to very few vents. In the winter this probably wouldn’t be much of an issue. The cabin could be cleaned better as well, dusty headboard, socks found around, and a used bar of soap left behind. We reported to the management company that the Ice Maker wasn’t working in the refrigerator and the drain plug in the master bathroom was missing. They never responded to my email during our stay, but we did not call. There was no started kit of soaps in the bathroom nor kitchen and half used rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms. Overall, we had a great short stay at the cabin and would recommend the cabin to others, especially when AC is not needed.

Beautiful but some broken furniture
We stayed for a couple nights and it is really nice. The view is beautiful. We loved sitting on the back deck with our coffee and wine and soaked in the view. Our number one complaint is we had 9 people staying with us and both sofa beds that were advertised were completely broken and unusuable. Unfortunately some of our guests had to sleep on the floor. Management was notified and they were very apologetic and they did compensate us for our trouble. Just want to mention for future guests to make sure that they will not require the sofa beds for sleeping arrangements. Hopefully the owner will replace the sofa beds soon. Also, we were unable to use the tv in the loft which would have been nice for my kids. Other than that, it was great. Thank you for a very nice weekend.

Fun Girls' Getaway!
We are a group of teachers who worked together at the same school for many years. Due to moves and retirement, we now span 6 schools in 2 states. We chose 37 High Hopes as a girls' weekend destination to reconnect. What a fabulous weekend it was! We enjoyed amazing views from the porch swing, rockers, and gliders. We easily gathered around the dining table for delicious food prepared in the well-stocked kitchen. Hiking to Waterrock Knob off of the Blue Ridge Parkway was a highlight as was visiting waterfalls and the city of Asheville. Our plan is to make this an annual trip and High Hopes will be our number 1 choice for lodging!

Easy access and yet solitude!
Very well maintained. Open floor plan with lots of windows. Great views of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting on the second floor porch and watching the wildlife: groundhogs, woodpeckers, rabbits and even bull frogs serenading us at night! Took walks in the evenings on paved roads winding through the forest. Highly recommend!
