Banana Bay is no resort! It’s an old Florida motel that has been updated. The room and bed were comfortable enough but certainly not resort level comfortable. The pool area closed at 4pm everyday and there was no other area close to the rooms where guests could congregate and enjoy a drink in the evening. The “resort” did have an outdoor bar area but you had to walk through a dimly lit path past the pool and then past the smelly marina to the waterfront corner of the property. I did not feel safe walking there solo.

The sink was badly chipped. There was a puddle by the patio door that I mopped up with a towel. The night stand next to the bed was covered with something that looked like old throw up. We were told the beach bar was open at 5-10. However it was definitely not.

The pool and deck are run down with a closed down bar. The grounds are messy not kept up at all. Breakfast selection amd food was awful. Biscuits served straight from fridge cold. Bed was clean and comfortable but floors turn feet black. Hair in the sink and a bug in tge shower. on top of this I was charged $100 more a night and when i questioned this Hotels.com was of no help and literally could not understand what i was saying and have never followed up with me.

Great location, very clean and convenient. I liked having bicycles at our disposal and enjoying the little tiki bar and swimming pool.

The mattress in Room 318 needs to be replaced. There was a dip in the mattress on the left hand side. Outside of that, everything was great, a decent breakfast, the Marina bar the hammocks on amazing for the price.

It’s Just OK
This hotel was comfortable, but only mediocre. The front desk is not open all night. The bar is only open for very limited hours in the evening. The breakfast is just so so but the coffee was absolutely horrible. When you see the photos of the two Adirondack chairs overlooking the water, those are the ONLY chairs down there. Two. For the whole resort. In my opinion, this hotel is just average.

PROS: Beds were comfortable, nice walk in shower, separate vanity area from the toilet area, tiled floors, Samsung TV, great view, ice machine for filling water cups, filtered water, breakfast every day with a good variety of cereal, bagels and biscuits. Keurig in room, mini frig in room and I mean mini. CONS: pool was not heated even though I called prior to make sure it was. Pool and especially hot tub was not cleaned. Hot tub was nasty. Room service was upon request for housekeeping, and then we would only get 2 towels at a time, sometimes no washcloth or no bathmat had to ask over and over again. Called front desk. no one answers. Breakfast was the same everyday, sausage patty and egg bites. Ran out of yogurt, orange juice and muffins on second day. Asked the owner about this and he said the truck didn't show up. none of this was available for the balance of days we were there. Then go to the store! Resort fee of 48.00 a day is supposed to include breakfast, not just partial breakfast. We did bring our issues up to owner and he made it right for us, but still do not take action to solve the issues. Great location, close to restaurants

I’ve been going to banana bay for 20 yrs and this will be the last trip there. We weren’t able to fry our fish. Normally we could use the common area shared by marathon beach club but that changed. We rented 6 rooms and the place was empty don’t understand.
