What a welcome to Morocco
Where to start!? First of all the communication was not good. I provided my air flight information and I asked for transportation. There was no rapid communication. The response took more than 20 hours.
We took a taxi from the airport to the market. We were dropped off in the rain and cold at the square. We were unable to find the Riad Warda.
We ask one young man to direct us to Riad Warda. It turned out to be 6 men trying to lead us to a dark alley. 3 men in the front and 3 in the back. We finally knocked on the door of one Riad which pointed to the right direction. For one minute of direction, the boys were asking for $20.
When we arrived at the Riad, the person who was there to greet us did not speak English. He was trying to call Houssam through cellphone and he also was unable to understand what we were trying to explain. The boys were asking for money. The coward who was asked to greet us at the Riad did not help us with the men that were trying to ask for $20 dollars. Instead of defending us against these men. I finally gave the boys $4 to which thy still responded “this is so little, watch when I see you in the alley.” I explained this to M to what he responded that they are crazy. Excuse me!? Let me explain that in the evening he did show up, with a friend, very casual, to charge the money. there were no basic amenities. No toilet paper, no soap, no nothing. The heater in the room was not working. Mattress was hard as a rock. Go somewhere else!
