Nice mid-century property that's been updated...onsite dining option is somewhat limited, but Beale Street is only a few blocks. The immediate area is very rundown but not unsafe (despite it's appearances). Friendly front desk.

The hotel was very clean and the staff are so friendly too. Most tourist attractions are in walking distance Beale Street, Sun Studios the Rock and Soul museum etc The area was quiet and I really enjoyed My stay. My sister and I had breakfast at the Biscuit and Jams restaurant everyday which is just next door to the hotel. The food was delicious and the waitresses and waiters take really good care of you.

The immediate area around the hotel seemed slightly abandoned - not much activity on the streets or adequate lighting. The actual property itself was nice - the lobby has a nice kitchy feel. Downside was asking for recommendations for dining, etc and none of the staff seemed to have a good handle on recommendations. Some responses ended with I don't really know. When we checked out we left some of the brochures we had collected with the front desk and told them they could have them for reference. We also had an unknown charge on our bill for $6.00 for the snack area that we never used. The charge was removed.

I had a terrible experience at this property. Check in was extremely slow and I missed most of a conference that I was there to attend because it took entirely too long to get into my room. It rained and the hallway carpets were completely soaked. The elevators took forever to come. The staff is super non chalant and lack any expeditious attitude to accommodate guests. Also ask for receipts because they don’t keep incidentals on file, although they ask you to sign for them.

Air conditioner leaked all over our floor, water coming out from behind closet. Hotel authorized another night during the night audit reaulting in an additional 224 fee to be held against my account when i had my 3 day reservation in place. Manager was excellent front desk was excellent.
