A disappointing stay
With five days before our stay in Milan, our previous hotel canceled on us so we were asked to accept Hotel Lugano. We are two adults and a 14 month old baby, we traveled with a pram. The entrance to the hotel is not wheel accessible. We had a friendly receptionist on arrival and pleasant check in. The elevator was old, and small but it fit the pram and a suitcase. On entrance to the room, we were hit with the smell of bleach. So we spent the first minutes opening all the windows and blasting the fan in the bathroom. The bleach smell is strong in the stair well too. The room was small, although comfortable enough. The bathroom is a joke, it is in desperate need of renovating. It was literally uncomfortable to shower and sit on the toilet. Another issue was the window, there were two doors/ windows that open fully and the only barrier is a very weak glass panel. I pushed against it and the whole thing looked like it would come lose, so we had to deal with the smell of bleach to prevent the risk of our baby pushing through. The bed was comfortable. Although the hotel was not busy, we asked a second receptionist for an extra blanket, which was not delivered to us. He was quite dismissive. In the morning, the same man was rude and distracted during the check out process. The price we paid was not worth this place, we’d never recommend this to anyone. Unfortunately we were allocated this hotel due to the issue.

A localização é bem próxima do metrô. Aceita "earlier check in", outra coisa a considerar dependendo do horário de chegado do hotel.

After getting my case down the stairs to the lobby I was shown into the smallest lift ever to get to my room. My room was tiny and the walls are so thin I could hear the person walking around in the next door to me, I bearly has enough space to open my case. At breakfast which was a selection of croissant’s and breads and yoghurts I asked for tea ‘hot’ water which I had heard them prepared by running the tap and then microwaving the water, it was cold again within a couple of minutes. The staff are really nice and helpful however the rest of my stay at this hotel wasn’t great.

Balcony bigger than the room!
Room was incredibly small, more like a single room with a double bed in it. Paint peeling off the walls and only 2 electric sockets. Shower much too small to be able to wash yourself properly. Day staff were not very friendly or helpful although the night staff were lovely. Very good location which was about the only good thing.

Simply don't go here. Terrace bigger then my room
If your looking for a hotel thats basically 1 grade up from sleeping on a hostel sofa then stay here otherwise i can't recommend at all, as you approach the hotel door theres graffiti on the walls either side, the room was so small, the terrace outside my door was bigger then my entire room together which had roofing materials on. Breakfast was dire, if i had paid for the breakfast id demand refund. The room had holes in doors, chipped paint, noisy extractor fans. Quite simply terrible, id only consider staying here if your going out on the beer and need a hotel to crash and not shower. Terrible

Just okay but I'd still recommend
This hotel is very near to the metro station which made is super easy to get around but there isn't a whole lot real close as far as restaurants and other amenities. In the hotel itself they had a small choice of drinks and a small bar area. We had the breakfast one morning and it wasn't that bad, standard continental breakfast. When we checked in there was no mention of the extra Tourist tax which we were told of when we checked out and also were told we had to pay cash, fortunately we had it though I do wonder if we didn't. Would we be expected to run around trying to change money? Room was small and okay but the shower was a bit claustrophobic. Best thing was we had a balcony so could sit out and relax having a drink after a long, hot day of sight-seeing. Only seemed like 2 people worked there as we only ever saw them and no one else. I have to say that I would recommend this place only because the price was right and the convenience of the metro station. Really if you are out sight-seeing all day then you don't need any more than this hotel offers.

Nice, but basic
The hotel was very basic, to the point of feeling outdated in its furniture, etc. But the room had everything you need, including air conditioning. And the hotel itself is right by a metro stop, very convenient to downtown. I'd say you get exactly what you pay for, which is the point, really.

Overall, I did not have any problems with the hotel during my few days there. Some points in particular are: * The climate control and wireless internet connection worked really well. * The hotel is very close to the Metro, making up for its relatively far distance from the main tourist attractions. * The single room I stayed in was really quite small (and just enough for my purposes). * There is no refrigerator in the room. * Noise in the corridor can be a problem. * One of the mugs provided in the room was not cleaned properly.

Probably the worst choice in the neighborhood.
You'll have to carry your luggage down a long flight of stairs to get to the lobby in the basement - and there's no help available. If you have more than a 30-inch waist, you'll never squeeze by the sink to get into the shower! Nothing in the room - no coffee maker, no minibar, no bathrobe - nothing but a bed.

I left my suit in the hotel & had to schedule a pick up with Fedex. Fedex would pick it up if it was in a box, but the the staff in charge did not put my (already in vover) suit in a box and said that it is not a service that the hotel will provide!!

2 Stars
The evening staff was courteous and friendly; morning checkout staff ... not so much. The breakfast provided was good. The room was small, and just clean enough. The bathroom was so tiny, I had to leave the bathroom door open to use the sink. The mattress had springs that were just covered. Comfortable compared to sleeping on the ground, but not luxurious by any means. The hotel should definitely not have a 3-star rating. At best, 2 stars. At the price, it's adequate, but the 3-star rating leads online purchasers to think they're getting more than they are.
