Kenja Kottage is located in the Beach Retreat subdivision. A short stroll to the private beach access with over 300 feet of beach frontage. This home is close to Pompano Joe Restaurant. It is also a short drive to two major shopping centers. This beautiful two story beach cottage has large wraparound balconies. It is tastefully decorated and has all the amenities to provide you with a fantastic vacation. On the second floor is the main master with a king size bed and master bath with a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The second master is also on the second floor. It has a queen size bed and attached bath as well. Both bedrooms have access doors to the large wraparound balcony for enjoying the evening breezes! On the main floor is the well appointed living room along with a kitchen that boasts stainless steel appliances and granite counter-tops. One bedroom is located on the first floor. It has a queen size bed & a Twin/Twin bunk. A Sofa sleeper is located in the living room for additional guests.
Our home is located in the gated community of Beach Retreat. It is a very short walk to a private beach access with over 300 feet of beach frontage. The neighborhood has brick paved streets lined with colorful Florida Cottages, and a 3000 square foot Community pool is heated during Thanksgiving week, Christmas week and for Spring Break. This home is located within steps of the pool and directly behind the club house with a state of the art fitness room. The Beach Retreat community is within a mile of Pompano Joes, Capt. Dave's and the Crab Trap Restaurants. We are centrally located near to all of Destin's wonderful Restaurants, water sports, children's activities, outlet mall, upscale shopping, casual and fine dining, movie theater and beautiful golf courses.

The house and location were very good. We did have issues with the refrigerator leaking water when we arrived and the hot water heater went out. The property manager Kathy Shampine was very responsive and was able to get everything fixed pretty quickly, all things considered. Kathy was good to work with and made the situation tolerable. Once everything was resolved our stay was delightful!

Great location

The Kenja Kottage is only steps from the beautiful pool and grilling areas. It is only a short walk to the ocean. The cottage itself is very spacious and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning next year!

Great location, nice property, a couple of issues

Overall, we were very happy with this cottage. The location was very convenient to the beach and the pool, the neighborhood was nice and quiet, andthe cottage was pretty well appointed. We did have a couple of issues. One of the beds had dog fur in it and all over the sheets and coverlet that made us really wonder if it had been changed. It was taken care of immediately by the housekeeping company when we let the property manager know, but we never did get the coverlet back for that bed. In addition, one of the queen beds is in pretty bad shape and didn't make for the best night sleep.

Great house!

We loved our recent vacation at Kenja Kottage and hope to return next year. The neighborhood is very family friendly and the beach was a short easy walk. Kathy is a very communicative manager and attended quickly to any questions I had. The only negative of the whole week was my husband’s OulKai sandals were taken from the beach shelves so he had to go buy another pair. But we didn’t let that spoil our fun! Beautiful time of year to be in Destin!

PERFECTION!

We vacationed in a different cottage managed by Kathy last year, and this one did not disappoint either! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and ADORE the cottage retreat neighborhood! It’s super close to the beach and has a bit more privacy since it’s tucked back just a bit! It is a home away from home! LOVED EVERY MINUTE!

Beautiful Cottage and experience

First the booking was easy and the property was just as described. Kathleen was amazing at answering any of my questions and quick communication. When we arrived, the property was beautiful and very well maintained. I just loved the little cottage community with the center area for walking my pup. We arrived earlier than plan but she immediately replied and allowed us in early! The house was clean and spacious. Pool was right behind us so was great for the little ones. This was our first vacation to this area as we normally go to PCB but the area, beach and water was awesome so I hope to stay here again in the future.

Perfect getaway

Property manager did a great job communicating access codes, and even helped with directions and local activity suggestions. Property was clean and had everything we needed. Next to pool and close to the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect vaca house!

Quick walk to the beach was great. My kids LOVED having bunk beds. Everything was clean. My only complaint is beds not very comfy and overall the house is too bright. Black out curtains would be a great option as my kids were up WAY too early and it was hard for the baby to nap during day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect.

Great spot for a family trip

I stayed at the cottage with my husband, our four kids (11, 9, 5, 3), and my parents. There was space for us to spread out and we liked that each bedroom had a bathroom. We found the cottage to be well equipped - we prepared many meals in the kitchen and everyone had enough pillows and towels. The location was great - a short walk to the beach and very close to the pool. Even our 3 year old could easily make the trip back and forth. Kathy was responsive, too. We can’t wait to book our next stay.

Great Location!!!

Location to beach and pool were amazing!! We traveled with two families, 4 adults and 6 kids ages ranging from 1-7 and the house was a perfect fit for us. The only thing that would make the place better would be to upgrade the mattresses. Kathy was very quick to respond to a smoke detector issue and had it fixed within the hour.

Kenja Cottage was very nice. The cottage was clean, the owner was very responsive and helpful. The cottage is in a very good location that is gated. It is a very short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back to stay again.
