Thin Walls Thinner Promises
The day we arrived we could hear persons in the unit next to us as if we were in the same unit--it was like they were in our room and we were in their room. A thin and very inadequate door separated the two units which we believe were actually one unit being exploited as two to make more money. We asked the front desk about this issue three times and were told each time that maintenance would place a weather strip in the door to enable more privacy. This was never done. Excuses were offered for why the problem was not being fixed but they were not helpful. In addition on the second night a new family was in the room and we could hear everything they said. It was unbearable. We were left to whisper. We talked with the front desk and they said that no one was supposed to be in that room--they were very surprised that people were in that room. The gentleman helping us did respond. Security explored this and found that the TV had been left on and the door not shut (were they hoping to return--thankfully they did not). Anyway, all of this disturbed our stay, limited our privacy, took precious time, and left a very bad taste in our mouth. We will not likely stay with TOPS'l again. It was too expensive an endeavor to have those kinds of distractions--the walls were thin but the promises to address this problem were even thinner. Thanks for inviting feedback.
