Our host Vaun had already been waiting there to greet us for quite some time before we came out of the customs at Castries harbor—our ferry was delayed.
The Grandtosh Apartments are expended units of Vaun and Tricia’s house on the hilltop, pretty new and well built. The unit we stayed is spacious, well equipped and very clean. It has a great mountain view, particular at sunset.
When we realized Vaun also drove taxi, we asked him to be our guide partly because driving on the hilly island was not so easy. The next few days, he arranged our trips and took us to Soufriere, Pitons, Marigot Bay, Rodney Bay, and Pigeon Island. On certain days he would accompany us all day and on other days he dropped us at the place we wanted to go and came back to pick us up. The last day, he sent us to the harbor very early in the morning.
Vaun and Tricia are considerate and friendly hosts. We wouldn’t have such a good time without them. As my wife put it, “we didn’t know anyone when we came here, now we have some friends”.
