This is a nice place. The staff and restaurant are great. There are only a couple of complaints I have; first the air conditioner is loud, and the mattress was not very comfortable. It’s really not a bad place, but I’m not sure if I’ll stay here again.

This is a nice place to stay as an alternative to a downtown Portland hotel- there is free parking, restaurant options nearby, some shopping and coffee. The vibe has changed over the years. Going from a quiet, faux-rustic, thoughtful, Lodge where you might have a small business conference or nice getaway as a couple, to a common hotel that happens to have a leftover rustic look and decor from its lodge days. I recall walking into this hotel when it opened years ago; it was charming, original and the staff were exceptional. The hallways were curated like museums. Well, things change etc. I think this is still a good option and the price is competitive especially considering the included parking. However I could hear a steady bass beat last night- from the bar? A party? A wedding? It was annoying. The rooms are clean. There are mini-fridges and keurigs. Unfortunately there was no way to open the door to my balcony to use it. The beds are foam bed-in-a-box things. Too soft if you require firm. Otherwise, not much else to speak of. The once charming Pendleton blankets are dingy now. The rooms are well used. The doors all seem to have hundreds of dings and dents. I won’t stay here again unless they update the rooms, or lower the prices to be commensurate with the experience.
