My wife and I enjoyed our 3-night stay at hotel Taiko. The hotel employees were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is only a short walk to the kumado ski base. The hotel pickup drop off service was great. We gave the hotel our train’s arrival time and the driver met us with a van when the train arrived! No waiting in the cold! We liked how our hotel room was extremely clean. The included breakfast buffet was excellent too. Almost all the hotel staff we spoke to could also speak English. Would definitely recommend Hotel Taiko.
THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE AND CLEAN. IT WAS ALSO QUITE HANDY TO RESTAURANTS, SKI FIELDS AND ENTERTAINMENT. STAFF WERE PLESENT AND VERY HELPFUL. THE HOTEL IS A LITTLE OLDER NOW.
THE MAIN ATTRACTION IS THE ONSEND.
We thought the room was lovely and well sized for Japan.
Staff were very friendly and rooms kept very clean.
We enjoyed using the onsen, known as one of the best in the areas.
We were also very happy with the selection at breakfast each day.
We also enjoyed the bar downstairs and the drinks and small bites they had to offer.
We would definitely stay here again next time.
The hotel is quite old. Open onsen bath was closed with no announcement prior to booking, though it was the main reason for us to choose this hotel in the first place.
the place is rather dirty, it definitely needs renovation. The food quality was also far from the best.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The onsen needs a little updating, but overall a good place to stay. Walking distance to Akakura Onsen mountains and many eateries available.
The room pictures on the booking website do not match room type. The room was not what we expected based on the pictures. The hotel is tired and shows its age in parts. The outdoor onsen was great!
