Great place but expensive
Business trip to attend a conference in New Orleans. The staff here are very friendly and informative. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My only reasons for not having this a 5-star is that I paid almost $400 per night and the breakfast offerings were only coffee. Doesn’t quite seem worth it!

Absolutely impressed
this is definitely what I would consider a luxury hotel. the room was absolutely gorgeous, bed was very comfortable. & was so clean, and we were so impressed. staff was so very friendly and helpful. parking and check in / check out was a breeze. location was perfect and hotel was very quiet. they had a crib available for our daughter and brought it right to our room. will def stay again!

We stayed 4 nights. The rooms are nice and very clean, staff nice and helpful but the hotel did not meet my expectations in these areas ( as advertised but not fulfilled): Guests cannot control temp in rooms. It's either cold or hot. The thermostat can only be adjusted by staff, switch is in the closet (?) and maintenance has to come in to do it. Pool is not available for guests to enjoy, it has not been cleaned for some time. They claim that pool is under maintenance but I think they are just waiting for temps to cool to drain it. We were there for 5 days and nothing was done with the pool. Our toilet seat was loose and housekeeping is hit or miss. Never replaced dirty glasses, towels and toiletries were replenished sparingly. No attention to detail. Rooms are not sound proof, again advertised as such. You can hear other guests in neighborimg rooms. Finally, our room faced the back of property. Every morning there was noisy music coming from the nearby ships. I would not stay in this hotel again.

This property was beautiful. My room nicely furnished, comfortable, lovely sumptuous bathroom. Staff outstanding, kind, helpful, professional. They treated you like family- it was amazing and an amazing start from the morning and all day and night long. I give them 10 stars. Thank you, Hotel Bienville And their sister hotel, The Monteleone (?sp) had a great rooftop pool and bar, as well as a place to workout. Only thing missing was a place to shower before and after the pool.

I was disappointed. Based on previous reviews I thought I would really enjoy this hotel. I love historic buildings and the room was a nice size but the service was not good. The pool was brown. Our room was never vacuumed. The lobby was small and very lightly decorated. I've stayed other hotels in the French Quarter that keep their lobbies decorated beautifully, especially during the holidays. This hotel had one tree - which was pretty but that's all. The restaurant was never open when we wanted to go. The front desk staff seemed to not care if we enjoyed our stay or not. Unlike other hotels in this area where the hospitality is through the roof.

The property is close to the train tracks and the trains do start running in the early hours of the morning horns blaring. If you're on the Decatur Street side of the building it can be very loud.

Beautiful hotel!
Our stay was wounderful. The only thing that would make it better is if their black out curtains blacked out a little better. But nothing to make our stay to uncomfortable. For those wondering, yes the hotel is older but so are most original buildings in New Orleans. If you want an authentic stay then this place is perfect. Our king room was huge and the walk in shower was beautiful. The water gets hot! So be careful there. The parking is not on site but at a neighbor hotel that you can see from the street and it is secure parking. The valet parking is $44+ according to when you stay and what is happening in town. It has a restaurant and bar beside the lobby. This did not disturb our stay. The restraunts around are awsome. Everything is with in walking distance or you can take the trolly. The staff was great and very welcoming every time we left or entered they greated us. Would definitely stay again.

The room was a bit more worn than expected but the bathroom was refurbished and everything was clean and comfortable. I asked for a balcony and got a patio outside the room so be specific but it was very nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was quaint and enjoyable. I recommend.

The entire staff was so friendly and cheerful. We got off the elevator and they were dancing and decorating the Christmas tree in the lobby. They seem to enjoy their job.

This is a great property. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The only issue is the elevator. It works, but it makes some interesting noises. Other than that it was an awesome experience.
